- Well laid out 9 hole course with left and right doglegs
- concrete tee pads and benches were recently added for all holes
- five holes have multiple locations for baskets
- course is very well maintained and directions to next hole makes course easy to navigate
- four practice baskets near parking lot
- location is great for Soldiers and anyone who works on Fort Gordon

Great course that is a good intro to anyone new to the game.

1. Nice bright yellow Mach X baskets.

2. Each starting point has new concrete tee pads, benches, and trash cans. Benches and trash cans are yellow and black to match the Army colors.

3. Multiple pin placements on 6 holes.

4. Great signs for both pin placements and where to find the next tee box. Tee box signs have both A and B pin placements and is very colorfully illustrated. They also have a little Army history on them for your reading enjoyment. At the bottom right of each sign will have a metal ring to let you know which pin in in play that day.

5. Stairs have been installed on some holes where you either have to climb up or down steep hills.

1. If you are not military, retired, or working on the base, you may have difficulties getting on to play.

2. Holes 6 and 7 have a very steep ravine on the right side off the tee pad. The ravine itself in not the issue. If you happen land at the bottom, there is no rope or stairs to help you in and out, which could be an issue for some folks.

Very good course for not only for beginner, but those of us that play a lot for fun and bragging rights. Might not be too tuff for the professional players. The future plan is for another 18 holes course (MarineNavy) which will be around 9000ft.

- Four practice baskets at the parking lot. So any kind of tournament, league, or mini won't have players trying to warmup all on the same baskets.

- This is not a park so there are no hard stand restrooms, but they do have a portable set up at the beginning of the course for convenience.

- teepad areas are very nicely done with solid new benches at every hole, also trash cans to keep littering to a minimum.

- map not needed: next tee signs throughout literally highlighting the path to the next teepad area. Very easy course to navigate. However I will post a course map when I have one.

- large parking area, however in order to loop back around to your car you need to play the Air Force 9 holes (they do make a great Back 9)

- Mach X baskets. They are awesome, the best on the market right now. They are in good condition, even powder coated with color coded for both branches of represented with courses right now (Navy and Marine courses are in the works). They all number signs on top of them so its easy to know which basket you shot to even if some are close.

- Teepad signs are great. The have hole "names" with a story behind a battle, war, or story for each with the explanation. Also they are color coded as well for the branch's course.

- A lot of good trail work done to make the paths between holes smooth. Not your run of the mill park here.

- Hole 2 has the best view in my opinion. Even though its just Ring Hall.

- Hole 6 has a canyon that comes into play that makes it a interesting walk down to your drive.

- I like the design of the course that it plays harder in the beginning and then tapers off a bit. You have to be on your game from the beginning.

- No real safety concerns with kids or families around, since it is out in the woods.

- fairways are a bit rough currently. The grass is not too bad because it is sporadic but still taller than I would prefer. This should change though as the course has a true grand opening and is taken care of more often.

- Repetitive: the majority of the holes are dogleg right (great for RHBH throwers) or just straight. Not much variety.

- Overall a really exciting course. I can't wait to play more often. Very easy access for service members living on post.

- I really like the "Wooded" feeling of the course and being able to play a bit faster tempo than normal because they really wasn't any pauses in the play due to cars or people being in the way.

- Worth checking out, especially playing Air Force's 9 holes to finish out with 18 and will be even better when there will be a total of 36 holes for all four branches.

Fantastic course on Fort Gordon. When I heard MWR was installing a disc golf course on base I figured they would stick a few baskets out there and call it a day. I was quite surprised when they unveiled a gem of a course. It's pretty short but very fun to play with a good variety of woods and open shots. It's great for beginners to learn on and more experienced players to hone their shots on. Number two is my favorite as you can just open up and give it all you've got.

It is short and a couple of the holes are a little basic, one and nine come to mind.

The tee signs and baskets are great, trash cans and benches are out and walkways, stairs, etc are being installed and improved. Local disc golfer Swami is out there all the time busting his back to improve the course and it shows. I play here about twice a week and it is constantly improving.

The Army 9 hole disc golf course at Fort Gordon is fun to play and well equipped. There are trash cans and signs at every tee. The rubber tee pads are ok, and the yellow Mach X baskets are awesome. The lollypops on top have a cool army graphic. There are signs making the layout easy to follow.

There is considerable elevation change on a couple of holes, and the woods are fairly dense in places. A few par 4 holes add some challenge. I liked hole 2 in particular. It is a dogleg left, but the basket is hidden behind a burm on th right of the fairway. Don't miss left on the approach, because there is a drainage pit surrounded by thick growth, with water in the bottom. Hole 5 is another fun throw, over a ridge with a tree forcing you to choose left or right side. 6 is a short, straight drive with a low ceiling, fun throw. Right of the fairway on hole 7 is another place to avoid, it drops off steeply. 8 is another tough one, especially in the longer pin position.

This is a new course, and thorny briars are still trying to keep their real estate in some fairways. As the course is broken in this may subside. Vehicles may be searched entering base, responsible behavior recommended.

Army 9 is fun, and the more difficult of the 2 finished courses at Fort Gordon. The terrain is more densely wooded, sandy, and better elevation changes than Navy course. There are a couple of great holes. I was putting far better than usual, and finished with a 26, 5 under posted par. Plans are to have each branch of the armed forces represented by a course here.
