Pros: the first hole is really easy to get a birdie and even a hole in one really good hill tees
Cons: no signs and really bad dirt tees super easy to lose a brightly colored disc near a road and close to a playground
Other Thoughts: this course is kinda fun for the first tees then it just gets annoying with not knowing where the tees are

Pros: I like the hill, the woods add a little extra challenge, very narrow for the most part. Kinda fun. Very courteous locals/players.
Cons: TOO much forest, I know I said they add a challenge but on a 197' hole I shouldn't try for a good fifteen minutes to find a bright orange disc! There are no real tees. Just patches of dirt that look like they have been used for tees. Poorly marked. Holes and tees too close together in some spots. I almost got hit on hole 3.
Other Thoughts: On hole 4 there are two dirt patches in which people tee off from. Which one do you use? This course needs some marking.

Pros: -Uses elevation to make something out of nothing.
-Not a busy course.
Cons: -Very short holes.
-One hole plays directly adjacent to a playground with small children.
-Dirt tee boxes. On some holes (I'm looking at you, 4) there seems to be several places to tee from, and nothing to tell you which is the "long." Not even sure why there is more than one spot to throw from here, as the course too simple to warrant a "short" tee.
-Every wooded hole is merely a throw down the existing walking trail. It's as if the course was put in just because it could fit, not because it would be an interesting place to play.
-I wouldn't even say this is a good beginner course. There are no real open holes for them to practice a solid regular throw on. The only open holes are either uphill or downhill. The other two "open" holes are heavily guarded by trees with low-hanging branches. I could see a beginner getting very frustrated with that. The wooded holes are a combination of throwing down a path too narrow for beginners to throw and tight turns.
Other Thoughts: Hole 8 is the only somewhat difficult hole. After a straight drive down the walking trail, it requires you to land in a failry small window where you can throw down the path after it takes a sharp left.

The basket on hole 9 was stolen a few years ago, but I believe the culprit was caught entirely due to the efforts of a person or two on the MFA Yahoo group.

The only purpose I can see for this course is to try and squeeze in a quick round on your lunch break if you work nearby. It literally takes about 20 minutes to play.

Pros: Short, easy warm-up, good introduction for beginers as there is some variety of holes, without the distances being overwhelming
Cons: did I mention short? Only hole 8 is not dueceable by any reasonable player (I am unhappy if I don't shoot under par at this course). Lots of interaction with other park users, need to watch for walkers and kids
Other Thoughts: Be prepared to play this course a couple times, it plays really quick, tee boxes could be better, but it is short so a big run-up is not needed.

Pros: A good "second level" course for beginners, meaning there's a decent variety of elevation/terrain. Good mix of open and tree-lined fairways. Nothing over 300+ feet (except hole 8, a challenging but cool tree-corridor shot).
Cons: Some holes make very good use of the terrain (2 through 4 in particular). Others, however, get squeezed out to dry. Hole 5 -- the lone "water hazard" hole -- is a 150 ft. joke that even beginners will snicker at. Hole 7 -- which forces you to use the am tee because the long shot goes through a playground -- also needs reworking. Not much love for left-handed or forehand throwers, except for holes 6 and 9. Tee pads are just spots of dirt.
Other Thoughts: Silverview may be a short round, but it definitely offers something to players of all skill levels. By virtue of proximity, I play here more than any other course. To many of my experienced friends, it's a good warm-up before a game at Acorn or Blue Ribbon. But to a beginner, it's a good introduction to dealing with elevation, trees and making smart decisions.

Hole(s) of note: 3 (Open, blind shot up a hill. Pin sits in a weird position near the top. Bad decisions can lead to a disc rolling 20-50 feet away. I won't even talk about windy days).

FYI: An unhealthy mixture of a-hole kids (I grew up here. Believe me, I'm not generalizing) and throwers who refuse to clean-up butts/beer cans/etc. have led to a greater presence of MV cops during peak hours. There's a suitable number of garbage cans around, so please don't litter.

UPDATE: Though it's still the same course, it's starting to fall into serious disrepair.

Pros: Pros include a good design, the holes are tightly knit together making the course quick which can be nice.
Cons: The tightness of the course also makes it fast moving so for a player who takes their time, this might not be the best course. Many of the tee's are essentially craters in the dirt making driving very tricky if you step wrong, you could easily twist an ankle.

Pros: A quick course to play if you are short on time. Good course for beginners to play. Mix of open and wooded holes.
Cons: Way too short for a competitive player. Most of the holes can be over driven without even trying.

Pros: Short course to play, especially if you are playing with beginners. The course has a great mix of open spaces and wooded areas.
Cons: Muddy tee boxes make a mess to play when the course get wet. Watch out for the tee box on hole 5; if you don't watch your step you could find yourself in a world of hurt.
Other Thoughts: nice course, if the tee boxes were concrete the course would be great.

Pros: A good mix of tight fairways and more open fairways. There is also a fair amount of elevation change on a few of the holes. A good course for beginners as most holes are really short, especially compared to the distance marked.
There are a few blind tee shots which add some variety.
Cons: Most holes are very short, which is ok except most are easily approached. There are plenty of trees to the sides of the hole but not too much in the flight path usually. Basically you only need accuracy on this course to get under par, not distance and accuracy.
Other Thoughts: Really muddy when I was there plus there was some pretty bad winds in the open section of the park. Also the map on here is very useful for finding some of the tees, we would have gotten super lost without it.

Pros: A short, quick playing course that makes good use of the low hills with sparse trees and woods provided. Usually not too busy.

The flow is good and it is usually pretty well maintained. My favorite holes were probably 2 and 3. 2 plays 219' down a hill into a little grove of mature trees and 3 plays 261' over the top of a small hill. The basket is pretty much at the start of the opposite side downhill. Kinda fun design. This course is mostly a beginner course.
Cons: Teepads need lots of work. The paths through the park do cross hole 4s fairway. This is a blind shot as well and there is a picnic structure nearby so check for children before you throw. Hole 7 plays past a swingset so again be careful.
Other Thoughts: Plan on playing through it 2 times if you go since the course plays so fast.
