STAY AWAY!!! drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 30, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

Hole 1 is out in the open, a clear shot with a few trees that provide shade. It's a par 4 at 429' and a nice hole. I thought this might be an indicator that previous reviews may have been a bit harsh.

Cons:

Starting at hole 2, 572' par 3 that has a basket tucked back in thick brush and heavy trees, not good. From there it only got worse. There was a fallen tree that I had to climb over to get through hole 3. The baskets were overgrown with foliage, so even if you hit the chains, the overgrowth will stop your disc. The fairways were covered in knee to waist high weeds so locating your disc was nearly impossible. After 6 I walked out of there and I'm still finding ticks on me.

Other Thoughts:

Skip this course and check out Lost Indian next door. Hole 1 is the only one worth throwing.

A Joke Of A Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 4, 2019 Played the course:once

Pros:

There is an okay 1st hole that goes slightly uphill to a basket with a tree next to it and is parallel to the road . That's It .....

Cons:

There is only 1 time in about 500+ courses I have played that I have been more frustrated with a course than the 9 ( or whatever ) hole Swampy Hollow . Maybe they keep it around so you appreciate the course next to it that much more . The other course is Lost Indian Spring . This course should be aptly named Lost Cause Course . After finding the short cement tee pad for #2 after looking for 5 minutes , I stood on it and tried to figure out how anyone could throw through a wall of foliage about 150' away . Absolutely No Way . I walked around it to see if there was even a basket on the other side . There was , and there were even a few scattered baskets in the woods . Unfortunately , the fairways were all overgrown , spiderwebs were even along the paths .I think the alien from Predator looked at the thick growth and this long since abandoned course and decided there was no intelligent life that would play it , so he flew off . The park needs to just pull these baskets up and either add them to the Lost Indian Spring Course on the front 9 , or melt them down and make one giant propeller to chop up the jungle growth here . If you are hell bent on losing your discs and attaching ticks to your body , then this course is perfect for you .

Other Thoughts:

After playing #1 , then walking what I could of this course I mulled over giving this course a zero .which would make me feel a little guilty . NO . WAIT A MINUTE ! I FEEL NO GUILT AT ALL . Swampy Hollow is an eyesore and really doesn't qualify as a course . MY RECOMMENDATION , AS IF YOU REALLY NEED IT : Pretend This Course Never Existed , Play Lost Indian Springs a Few Hundred Yards Down The Road , and Spend The 45 minutes You Would Have Wasted Looking For This Course By Walking Across The Road And Admiring The Lake .

Pros:

There appear to be 9 baskets here. That's all I got on the pros for this course.

Cons:

Other than hole 1, the fairways are completely overgrown.
When I found the tee pad for #2, I laughed at the fairway, which was a jungle with no visible basket. I did find it eventually, but after hole 3 I stopped throwing discs. The weeds were knee high, and it appeared I was the only person who had tramped through there in months.

The tee pads were short and narrow and almost unusable. I never even found the pad for hole 1.

There were posts for tee signs but no tee signs.

Other Thoughts:

The adjacent Lost Indian Springs course looks like it is in a little better shape (I didn't get to play it). But Swampy Hollows is unplayable. Is it any better in the winter? Was this once a course that was maintained? It's strange because the recreation area that this is a part of looks pretty nice and taken care of. But right now this course has nothing to offer but frustration.
