Pros: -- Well maintained, even the grass, because it's on a college campus.
-- Good use of elevation and water (two or three holes).
-- Good baskets (Innova Disc Catcher)
-- Easy to navigate. I never needed to look at a map.
-- The park is nice and there is a pavilion near No. 1 and the parking lot.
Cons: -- Natural tees
-- Some boring filler holes (1 and 4).
-- No benches at the tees, although there were some on the walking path nearby.
-- No restrooms.
-- No trash cans.
-- 9 holes.
-- A couple of holes have some safety concerns. No. 3 basket and No. 4 tee are too close together. And No. 9 plays between two sand volleyball courts.
Other Thoughts: -- Two of the more interesting holes have a good chance of having the basket surrounded by water. No. 2 fairway had water on it, and the basket is a few feet from the end of a drainage ditch. It is a short (210?) RHBH hyzer around a line of bushes to an inset basket. The bushes and rough are thick. On No. 5, the basket is 15 feet from the lake. I can imagine the water reaching the basket at times.
-- There are large red flags near each basket, which seems like overkill given the open nature of the course, the shortness of the holes and the yellow Innova baskets.

Glad to see more disc golf in central MS

Pros: - New baskets
- New signage
- Several types of shots (uphill, downhill, over water)
- Very little chance to lose discs
- Beginner friendly but somewhat challenging for experienced players
- Clean
- Low traffic
Cons: - only 9 holes
- wide open (could be a pro for some)
- no concrete tee pads
- a little bit too easy
Other Thoughts: This is a brand new course located at East Central Community College, which is where I got my associates degree. I was super excited when I found out they were putting in a disc golf course, because this area has almost no courses. I think that having this course on campus is going to introduce a lot of new people to disc golf, which is awesome.
Having played the course a couple of times, I have a few comments.
It is very open. I understand that you have to work with what you have and I think they did a good job, but it is still very wide open. Hole 1 is just a straight up shot. 2 plays right beside some thick woods, but you can lay up for an easy birdie. 3 plays over water but is a short throw that should be easy for most. 4 is a pretty long throw to a basket guarded by a cedar tree. 5 is an open shot but the basket is on somewhat of a peninsula so water is in play. 6 goes up the hill and is a par 4 but should probably be an easy 3 if you have a decent arm. 7 plays back down hill but is open. 8 is basically open but the line makes you throw around some trees. 9 is a straight shot but trees take away the hyzer line so it adds some difficulty.
Over all, this is a fun course to play. Most holes are pretty easy to par but tough to birdie (I've shot -1 or even every time I have played) and with the addition of 9 more holes could be a really good course. It is definitely worth checking out

A nice little 9 hole park course.

-Not much rough to deal with (hard to lose a disc)

-Pretty park
-Water on 2 holes if that's your thing
-I talked to the course designer and he said they are going to add another 9 through the woods at some point in the near future. UDPATE 11-2-15

Other Thoughts: This is a nice little 9 holer on the ECCC campus. It is a new course located on the grounds of the campus park. As I was playing this course I was thinking the area through the woods on the back side of the lake would be a great place to extend the course to 18 holes. Right now it is a typical 9 hole park course. It is very well maintained as far as grounds keeping goes and uses the space it occupies well.
It starts with a standard short hole off the first tee then proceeds to the only hole where true rough comes into play with a short drive down the side of the woods to an inset basket. Hole 3 is the first water hole with a drive over the edge of the pond. Hole 4 plays through the center of the park with a couple of trees that may come into play depending on the line you choose. Hole 5 plays to a basket on the edge of the pond so water is in play again. Hole 6 plays up a hill to a blind basket at the top. Hole 7 plays down the hill for a nice drive to air out a disc. 8 plays through a few trees and 9 brings you back to the start with a mostly wide open drive.
This course uses the space it occupies well and starts and ends at the parking lot. I did not pay attention to see if there were any trash cans as I pack out my trash so never look for cans. Also since it is a 9 hole course I didn't look for any benches but I don't recall seeing any on the course. There are bathrooms at the parking lot that I noticed.
I enjoyed the rounds I played here as I went in knowing that it was a 9 hole park course and was not expecting an 18 hole pro course. If you want to teach someone the game or play a nice little 9 holer this is a good course to do it.
