Pros: Nice variety
Challenging yet you don't have to be a pro to snag a deuce
Spread out and just really relaxing and enjoyable.
The course is like a winding adventure.
Cons: Seattle Trend: Markings and navigation can be difficult the first time. Only reason I didn't give up 4.5
Other Thoughts: Whats with Seattle and the lack of signage and descriptions. There are great courses in the area you just typically need a tour guide to navigate.

Pros: Definitely challenging; I really like this course. There is always variety to every hole and it's rare when you drive the same way twice in a row. The grass is green and fresh, except for holes 8 through 11. Even the long holes are fun to play!
Cons: There is often hole re-arranging without warning. You don't always know if your even throwing to the correct spot until you get there. Parking is sometimes iffy, especially on a beautiful day. Make sure you bring plenty of water or something due to the length of the course. If you pack it in, though, make sure to pack it out.
Other Thoughts: This is definitely my favorite course in the Seattle area. Just when I think I'm a good player, I play this course and realize I've still got some work to do!

A Fantastic Spread Out Course

Pros: Lakewood King County Park is spread out over a huge area of rolling hills, water, and other complexes. The majority of the park is very well manicured and with the recent changes and even with being so spread out - it's still pretty easy to navigate. Note the interchanges from #6 to #7, #10 to #11, and #13 to #14 as you go through the park. The maps posted on this site are out of date with the current numbers posted on the course.
The majority of holes have two distinct pin placements giving you a fresh look at holes depending on the spot. The pins are showing their age, but are in good shape, and the concrete boxes are great to tee from. Parking is easy, but this will change with the construction.
The biggest pro to me were the elevation changes throughout the park in conjunction with the amount and placement of the trees. There are lots of old growth as well as open areas for all types of players to enjoy themselves. I loved the super long #11 (old #12) hole as well as the big downhill of #8 although the softball field can come into play with a bad shot.
BEST HOLE/S: #5; #11; #14
Cons: The biggest con is the impending word that the front five holes of the course may go the way of the dodo when construction starts. Areas by #7 through #10 are already war torn on the far side, so it would be a real shame to see one of the best Seattle courses get destroyed. Thankfully there is enough room to modify the course, but it still won't be the same.
Navigation, although not a huge deal - can be a negative to first timers due to the current changes. We had to guess a few times on the proper pin placement for many holes, and the general direction of the next hole. I would bring the map anyway, because it did help a little in spots.
There's no real integration of water, which is too bad since there is a big lake next to part of the back nine. Maybe it will get incorporated, if there is a redesign. This area of Seattle isn't the greatest either, but it shouldn't be a real issue in the park.
WORST HOLE/S: #1
Other Thoughts: It looks like Lakewood King County Park is loved by many golfers, which means it should certainly come through any future construction. It was well-balanced and challenging for the intermediate level player, and just has a lot of offer with its length, layout, and terrain features. I really hope construction isn't a big issue, because this is certainly a top Washington course east of the Sound.

i love lakewood

Pros: great variety of shots including uphill, downhill, blind, and more. its quite challenging to keep par on 18 holes, but i likeit because it pushes me more than my regular course (juel park)
Cons: there usually are enough people there that youll always have others around you, and if you are playing after 3:30 or so you will for sure be waiting for groups ahead of you. try and come early

Excellent Seattle Course

Pros: -Plenty of open holes with great chances to score low.
-Risk reward pin placements that can lead to low scores
-Well maintained course
-overall a very simple course to navigate
-A great mix of open and tight holes
Cons: - Cutbacks on a few holes puts you in the line of fire
- Vandals have damaged a few tee signs
Other Thoughts: This is by far one of the nicest and most well maintained courses i have played. Not a crowded location with plenty of room for error off the tee. Its a good walk with some rolling hills.

Don't wish it, Play it! Before its tom late.

Pros: Large parking lot, Clean restrooms, extra large concrete tee pads, Well groomed fairways, friendly locals, mach V baskets with multiple pin locations that are changed weekly. Course offers all skill levels a challenge with elevation changes and long drives and high risk reward pin placements.
Cons: Some tee signs had been vandalized making them unreadable. Some occasional dog walkers may hold up your game. Course flow requires a few cut backs or walking back up a hill holes #4-5, 7-8, 11-12 come to mind.
Other Thoughts: Lakewood King County DGC is sprawled across rolling hills of lush green grass with mature trees throughout with very minimal under brush. There is a beautiful pond and a small marsh in the park, the marsh is the only water hazard. The course layout uses every corner and nook and cranny of the park making every hole just as challenging as the last. Each hole has a lengthy concrete pad, plenty of benches
Keep your eye on your disc they love to roll and roll and roll!
They play flip doubles every Thursday at 5:and change the pin placements on Wednesday or Thursday before 5:00 pm
I WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THEY ARE STARTING CONSTRUCTION IN AUGUST 2010! THAT MEANS PLAY IT WHILE YOU CAN CAUSE LIKE OTHER REVIEWERS MENTIONED; THEY ARE REMOVING MOST OF THE TOP PART OF THE COURSE AND FITTING IT INTO THE REST. THIS COURSE COVERS SO MUCH GROUND AND IS SPREAD OUT MAKING IT SO GRAND SEPERATING IT FROM THE OTHERS. I HOPE IT WILL KEEP THAT SAME FEELING. I DO KNOW THAT HOLE #1 BASKET WILL BE BY WHERE #15 BASKET IS AND WILL TEE OFF FROM ACROSS THE POND! A TRUE WATER HAZARD

Best in Seattle

Pros: What are the things that people most often look for in a disc golf course? Good hole design, easy navigation from hole to hole, long sturdy teepads, and a challenge every time you begin a round. This course addresses all four of these components and even excels at most of them. There is a great amount of variance in the holes whether it be pure distance, elevation change or well placed hazards. It is very simple to navigate even the first time you play it. It has long concrete teepads, perfect for those who like big run ups to their drive. Simply the best all around course in Seattle, a must play!
Cons: Some holes may be a little more frustrating for someone just taking up the game, but courses shouldn't be designed with beginners in mind throughout the whole layout in my opinion.
Other Thoughts: Hole number 8 is a beautiful signature-esque hole. Long, slightly downhill, and a narrow chute you must thread in order to have a chance at two. If you pull it just right though, very fun to watch this flight path.

Play while you can!

Pros: Beautifully well-kempt park. Nice fairways with obstacles tastefully used. This course is where you take a newbie to learn how to play. There are so many tee options here. You can effectively play 21 holes by using alternative tees and baskets. Even your young children can have a good time here.
Cons: This course is about to be drastically changed. A large community center building will be built (beginning this summer) in the middle of the 18th hole fairway. The result will effectively be the loss of holes 1,2,3,4,5, and 18. A re-design is underway and, better or not, will take place in less park space than we have now.

Nice Park

Pros: Very friendly layout, with some elevation change and a little water coming into play. All holes have 2-3 pin locations. It is also nice having SeaTac close. With these two courses together it is the ultimate place to play some golf!
There is plenty of parking available, and restrooms by #14.
All holes have concrete tee pads and top notch baskets.
Cons: Some transitions between holes requires you to walk on the fairway of another hole, like #4 to #5, and #11 to #12.
Also hole 3 runs right along peoples fenced it back yards, so keep it low.
Other Thoughts: Great place for everyone to play, pros to if you are just learning to play.

Great Course in Seattle

Pros: -Lots of elevation change
-Hole diversity
-Hard to lose discs
-Benches at nearly every tee pad
Cons: -It was a little difficult to find hole one, drove to wrong entrance of the park.
-Lots of human traffic (not all disc golfers) and fences.
Other Thoughts: -Very fun course, can't think of much to improve it.
