Dean Health! 2+ years

Pros:

First of all, let me just say that it is straight-up awesome that Dean Health Plan tried to place a disc golf course on their campus. I would love to work for an organization that would do something thoughtful like this for it's employees. The only other company I can think of that has this is State Farm Park in Bloomington, IL.

The other pro is that the grass is nicely mowed and taken care of. There's no trash and this area is very nicely maintained.

Cons:

When I looked at this course on Google Maps/Earth, it looked like there were six baskets, but one of them (the northern most one) was unfortunately stolen.

That being said, there were no tee areas so I just presume that the player is meant to throw from basket to basket and then return for a 10 hole round on six baskets.

If this is the case, the design is questionable. From a designer point of view, there should not be a disc golf course here. The land just isn't good for it. It feels a little crammed and some of the baskets are literally in pine trees.

When you go from the north area to the west area, I would love to throw a massive RHBH hyzer but the building with it's huge glass windows are just too menacingly foreshadowing of what would happen if I tried it.

In any case, this "course" is very bare bones. The only equipment here are single-chained baskets, which goes to show that the company didn't invest very much in this course. But, like I said, at least they did something!

Other Thoughts:

When I finished playing here, I was torn up between a .5 and a 1. I ultimately went with a .5 because this course serves more as a practice area than a course.

As a practice area, it absolutely gets the job done. I'm glad that they installed it but it's not a destination course by any means. I'll be back just to practice putting and approaching in the north lawn during the late evenings and weekends.
