Decent 9-hole course

Pros: -- Tee signs are good, the Discatcher baskets are solid, and the tee pads are long enough and in good shape.
-- The variety of throws is good (RHBH, RHFH, etc.), and two holes have water in play. Hole length is varied, but the longest hole is about 315 feet.
-- The alternate tee on hole 9 that removes the water carry/worry.
-- Restrooms are available.
-- There is a practice basket behind the No. 1 tee.
Cons: -- Walking paths and picnic tables (on Nos. 4 and 5) are a concern.
-- Navigation is not great, and there are some long walks for such a short compact course. From 3 to 4, you have to go right and across the walking path. After 6, you walk through (or around) the basket for No. 4 and head back toward the trees that house the fairways for Nos. 2-3. After, No. 7, you have to cross the path and head toward the pond for No. 8. And the walk back to the parking lot after No. 9 is long.
-- Holes 3 and 7 come close to sharing a fairway, so any shot slightly off line on either hole likely brings you into the fairway for the other hole.
-- Animal feces. At first I assumed this was from dogs, but since I encountered at least three dozen ducks between the No. 8 basket and the No. 9 tee, I'm not sure which animals left me the "presents", but I don't really want to have to worry that much about where I step or where my disc lands.
Other Thoughts: -- The tee sign was missing on hole 6. I hope that will be replaced soon.
-- This is a solid (and sometimes fun), 9-hole course. With so many good 18-hole options nearby, it's hard to say this is a destination course. It's certainly worth a stop if you are nearby.

RECREATIONAL PLAYER FRIENDLY

Pros: Great use of the surrounding obstacles.
Well marked, with great flow.
Great basket placement.
Great ace potential.
Cons: Not much to complain about from a recreational player's perspective. Longer tees for the better skilled players may add a bit.
That's about it. Nothing to complain about.
Other Thoughts: I love it!
Very well planned 9-hole course! This is what I would call the standard by which all other 9-hole community courses should be set to. Great use of the limited obstacles.
For a less than average player like myself, this is a good course to work on form and take some chances you would not normally get to do without fearing a lost disc. (BTW, I lost a disc on 8. Wha-wha).
All and all, this is a disc friendly environment in a family friendly area. Worth a short drive for a quick 9.

Beginner Friendly

Pros: Concrete teepads.
Hole signage.
Quality baskets.
Mixed variety of shots from your bag.
Easy flow and never backed up on the course.
Great finishing hole. Risk/reward payoff.
Trash cans and restrooms on site.
Kid friendly.
Cons: Poplar location for non disc golfers.
Potential people traffic of non golfers.
Wished the course had another 9 holes.
Other Thoughts: Great starter course, great for introducing someone to the sport. Perfect place to bring the family even if they don't play, alot of other activities to do.

Bedford Boys (2017)

Pros: Beginner friendly
Baskets, Signs and Teepads are in good condition.
Course flows very well and never has any back ups.
Good mix of open and tight wooded fairways.
Cons: Bird population is out of control from over feeding and has made fairways of 8 and 9 a dirty place for your disc to land, may want to wash your hands and maybe your discs after playing.
Practice basket and holes 1-3 and 7 play next to apartments. Pet droppings are a common sight.
Most people are not here for disc golf and caution needs to be taken not to hit anyone.
Other Thoughts: Mandatory needs to be put into place on 5 to prevent skip shots off the road.
Front of a few teepads are not level with the ground and could cause a twisted ankle if you misjudge the run up.

Short and fun.

Pros: Short-ish 9 hole course that winds around unused portions of Boy's Ranch Park in Bedford, TX. Plenty of other family activities in this large city park.
Discatcher baskets, in great shape and caught well. One per hole. Nothing too tricky about any of the pin placements.
Concrete tees, one per hole. Plenty big enough for this course.
Good signs with all the information you'll need (hole number, distance, etc). Navigation was made much easier because of them, as there are a couple transitions that aren't right in front of your face.
While the course is anything but long, there are plenty of different shots to be thrown here, especially if you're willing to use your imagination a little bit.
**pro tip: play the skip hyzer off the street on hole 5**
Water in play on a few holes, with a small drainage type creek in the middle of the course, and a pond carry on hole 9 (which can be averted by using the alternate tee pad across the bridge). Nothing too scary, but still nice to see.
The woodsy portions of the park are used well in the design, and add some shot making skill to navigate well. What little elevation there is here was used well enough.
Cons: As stated above, the course is pretty short. Don't expect to throw your big drivers, or any drivers for that part, after hole 1.
Be careful for other park users on hole 8/9. You're pretty close to some walking trails, as well as a very nice park shelter.
Other Thoughts: You can tell that the intention here was to build a nice entry level 9 hole course, and to that end, they greatly succeeded. There is nothing here that will overly challenge any player, but the course is still full of fun shots.
If I happened to be close, this is definitely a spot I'd stop for a couple spins. As a course bagger, I was pleasantly surprised (especially since this was my 300th course!).

Great after work course

Pros: To start off with it has concrete tee pads on every hole (2 tee's on 9 to take away the across the water throw). All baskets are nice quality and are level. For a 9 hole course it has a great mix of open and technical shots. Over all a good course and I would highly recommend it for a casual round
Cons: Walking paths always make me nervous, and there are a few places that you get kind of close to them. Hole 4 is not well thought out because of the picnic table in close proximity to the basket. Short hole and easy to over throw if arm speed isn't minded. Maybe a sign for the 6 - 7 transition as mentioned in other reviews.
Other Thoughts: All around a great place to play. I feel it would be a good beginner course due to not having any long bombers, but still requiring accuracy. With that said it still requires a good shot from experienced players in order to score well. For the experienced player there are many ace run holes! I will defiantly be playing here more often. The park is big enough for a back 9 maybe someday in the near future that would happen?

Great Mix

Pros: -Easy to navigate after 1st time playing
-Good mix of tunnel and wide open holes
-Putting keeps a lower skill level player in the mix
Cons: -After hole 6 a sign would be helpful to navigate to 7
Other Thoughts: This course is truly has a well designed layout, with a even distribution of open holes and technical holes.
The last two holes water comes into play, but are awesome holes to end a round on.

very nice rec course

Pros: -nice signs, discatchers, and well-sized, textured concrete tees
-good variety of holes with many technical tee shots and several holes with water in play
-mostly shorter holes that are fun but not too intimidating for the newer or younger player, perfect for the location of this course at a youth rec center
-alternate tee on hole 9 that removes the water carry
-restrooms available, lots of other activities in the park
Cons: -possible safety issues from walking paths, pavilions, park benches, and various other pedestrian laden areas
-little challenge for the experienced player
-the walk from hole 9 back to the parking lot or to hole 1 seems long compared to the relatively small area the course occupies. it's really not that bad, it just seems long
-a few holes have parallel fairways, 5 & 6 and 3 & 7, easy to throw into the next fairway on errant shots
Other Thoughts: Boys Ranch is a fun beginner oriented course that is perfectly suited for the youth recreational center where it is located. The holes are mostly short but a few of them require an accurate shot through a tight gap. The navigation is pretty easy as most of the tees are visible from the previous basket. The signs are great, with distance, par, and a picture of the hole layout. New discatchers and textured concrete tees.
The first hole is the longest (315') and the only hole that requires a driver for most experienced players. Hole 2 requires a low drive to penetrate the protected green area. Holes 3 and 7 both play through the same wooded area and have tight gaps to hit. Holes 4-6 play near a small, mostly dry creek. Hole 4 is a simple short hyzer (the shortest on the course at 151'), slightly downhill. Hole 5 is another tight window with a fairway that gets narrower to a small green with OB street to the right and the creek to the left; probably the hardest hole on the course. Holes 8 and 9 play near the pond. Hole 9 has a short water carry from the main tee or you can opt for the alternate tee near the bridge. Same distance but no water carry though I think the alt tee is actually harder since you have water to the left and deep, as opposed to just on the left from the main tee.
The biggest problem with this course is its proximity to some of the other park uses: walking paths, pavilions, park benches and tables, and people congregating on the water's edge on holes 8 and 9. Experienced players will easily avoid most of these potential hazards but newer players chucking overstable drivers around will probably not be so lucky. Hopefully, people will use basic sense and wait until it is safe to throw.
Overall, a fun rec course that will serve its target audience well. Still fun for experienced players but not a destination, especially with so many other courses around town.

Nice neighborhood course

Pros: Cement tee pads on every hole (two on hole 9)
Good mix of open and tunnel shots
Course was relatively easy to follow
Cons: No tee signs (yet, the course was just installed)
Hole 9 ends pretty far from the parking lot.
Other Thoughts: Ok, this is a brand new course in a small busy park.
The longer the hole, the more wide open the hole was. However don't think there is any distance here. Longest hole was 300ft at best.
After the first open hole, you get to throw though a nice grove of trees. Then you have 3 shorter holes with a small creek between the fairways. Then back though the tree grove again to play holes 8 and 9 that are wide open. Hole 9 is across the edge of the pond, but there is another tee box near the bridge you can shoot from.
Then you get to walk a long distance back to hole 1 or your car. I hope someone donates enough money to add a hole 10 to make this a reasonable course.

Bedford boy's ranch

Pros: Good mix of amateur and reg. course it's a 9 hole but very well thought out course. Plus a few holes have water so makes it interesting. Over all I'll probably play again this week close to home .
Cons: It's a 9 hole but other than that all good.
