Pros:

The Weston school district DGC wraps around the school in the middle of nowhereville WI. Pretty good little terrain and design for what they had available to them. Pleasantly surprised actually. One of the better school courses I've played in awhile.

The baskets are some kind of newer Mach's I would guess. Not sure exactly, but they are all in great shape and caught pretty nicely. One pin position per hole.

The tee signs are the typical white plexi glass framed ones you see at a lot of school courses around WI. Basic hole map, hole #, par and distance. Good enough for a course like this.

Natural tees with a board set into the ground marking the front of the pad. Tee areas were all in pretty good shape. Doubtful that this course gets a lot of play, so I'm sure they'll stay this way for awhile.

Most holes are in the 200 to 300 foot range. Hole 2 is under 200 and 9 is over 300 but the rest are right in that range. You can get away with doing alright with just a backhand or just a sidearm. There are trees in play, but not that many. Enough to add a little challenge. Hole 1 is the most wooded and offers a good challenge right off the bat. Baskets are strategically placed where possible next to trees, making it a bit tougher to place your upshot. Nice design.

The navigation is pretty straightforward once you find hole 1. Hole 1 plays on the little island by the parking lot in the front of the school. You then have to walk north around the fenced in playground area to find hole 2. Hole 3 will be visible in the very northeast corner of the property, playing south. Head back towards the school after that and you'll see hole 4. Head south again and look to the left by the sheep pasture for hole 5. The rest flow really nicely back around the football field up toward the lot you parked in.

Cons:

They distances on most of the tee signs are not even remotely close to correct. I'm pretty sure that this was due to the tees having been moved at some point with no change to the signs.

A few of the baskets are leaning. Nothing major, but enough that they won't catch everything they otherwise should.

Not playable during school hours obviously, so it has limited play times.

Other Thoughts:

I doubt anyone will really ever be near here for any reason. It's really in the middle of nowhere. I had to go a ways out of my way to even get here and I've travelled near here over a dozen times. If you are near here though, you could do much worse than this place. Nice little pretty well designed course actually. I'd recommend this one over the nearby Reedsburg HS. We played them both and this one is the much more enjoyable of the two. Worth a stop for sure.

Disconsin ~ End of May 2016 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 29, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Long, challenging shots. 3 out of the 9 shots are actually Par 4's, giving good balance within a shorter course. Tree play on some of the shots are amazing, with open driving spaces and trees down the fairway that a player must maneuver.

Cons:

Hole #5 is practically unplayable, with such thick wooded land to the players left, and a fenced in pasture deep down the fairway and to the players right. Makes it very uncomfortable for anyone to open up and throw a decent drive. Opinion of myself, but it would also be nice to open up some of the space around the baskets even more, as in Basket #4, where long grass and small trees make it difficult to locate a disc that happens to miss the 'green' around the basket.

Other Thoughts:

Yet another 9-basket course in the heart of the Southwestern region of Wisconsin. With some work to a few of the fairways, this course could really be a beautiful nine.
