Pros:

- good baskets
- good tee signs with lots of info
- lots of trees to create obstacles that force lines
- course course to practice putter driving
- some OB & Mandos to add challenge

Cons:

- tee pads are gravel/dirt
- some missing tee signs
- navigation can be a little confusing
- can be slightly confusing what basket you are throwing at

Other Thoughts:

They did a great job with a little piece of land to create a fun putter course.

Pros:

My three pros:

- Decent baskets with signs at all holes except hole #1. The signs indicate the basket location, distance and par and were pretty helpful. The holes themselves are generally less than 280' but bring trees and OB fencline into play to create interesting lines.

- Plays alongside a pretty piece of property with antique farm equipment and shady canopies. Sadly that property is OB and separated from the course via barbed wire fence.

- There is a nice river access also within the fairgounds that provided an excellent swimming spot after my round.

Cons:

-My three cons:

- All tees are dirt and the first tee was not marked in any visible way so I needed Udisc to locate the general teeing area for #1 (basically the south edge of the parking area). The natural tees are generally fine as most holes are under 280'.

- The holes are somewhat crammed into this small corner of the fairgrounds and play pretty close to eachother with several baskets in site on most holes. Since I was the only person out there I wasnt worried about others throwing at me, but would be a concern if it were any busier. Also, without the tee signs I wouldve been totally confused which basket to throw at but the signs made it pretty clear and easy to follow.

- This seems geared towards beginners and families of Hotchkiss due to the short hole lengths but several holes play immediately next to OB fenceline with NO TRESPASSING signs posted every 50ft. Also the very long hole 17 (marked par 3) was fairly out of place with the beginner feel of the rest of the course. Skilled players will shoot way under par here.

Other Thoughts:

This course is no Maple Hill obviously but it does a great job of being the town's only access to disc golf. After finding the first tee I plugged along pretty quickly and played the course in about 50 minutes and tracked just over 2 miles of walking. Despite being pretty short the holes were fun and varied and even had a mando here and there to spice things up. My favorite hole was #8 which played between the OB baseball outfield fence and a parallel OB roadway leaving an 8ft wide curving fairway to a basket about 250' away.
Overall enjoyed my round quick hot round and was really pleased to find the free and easy river access to take a quick swim afterwards.
