Pros: Any course is better than no course
Cons: the parking sucks, the baskets are trashed and bent. One was being used as a trash can when I was there. A bum was sleeping just off the tee on 6. Signage lacking, hole #1 tees off over parked cars. Could not find the actual tee for hole 5
Other Thoughts: college area, frat houses all around, tons of people walking and riding bikes in the park. Would be better to move this course somewhere else.

There is a cool object course in Davis as well as a course on the UCD campus but it uses street as fairways and seems to play close to some buildings, disc vs glass windows can't end well for the window.

Pros: For a disc golf course in Davis, CA that actually has baskets, this is your only option. I just played it for the first time, and it's actually right next to my freshman college dorms from 17years ago! Only takes 20-25 minutes to play nine holes. Some cute & very short holes to get aggressive on. Great for beginners, and building some confidence. Disc golf is fun no matter what!!
Cons: Yes, some of the baskets have seen much better days, but putting is no more challenging that a perfectly new basket. If you're expecting something difficult & lengthy, you'll be disappointed.
Other Thoughts: I made the mistake of playing on a Saturday afternoon, where there were plenty of picnic parties, volleyball games, and people throwing footballs around my shots. However, the course is laid out such that it pretty much hangs around the perimeter. I'm looking forward to playing again during the week when it's not crowded.
Uniqueness: C- (only thing unique is how short & simple it is)
Difficulty: D (biggest obstacles are people)
Fun factor: C (DG is never not fun)
Aesthetics: C- (on a hot day, you'll see some cute girls)
Overall: C-

 Practice Course

Pros: - nice, small city park
- there is never anyone else on the course, you're almost guaranteed to have it to yourself
- a couple cool pin locations (10 ft. drop-off behind #3)
Cons: - extremely small tees
- very short holes
- missing or wrong tee signs
- some tees point at awkward angles
- some baskets are in a state of disrepair
- some hole overlap
Other Thoughts: I actually really like this course, despite the rating I gave it because it is a perfect course to practice your 100 ft. upshots at baskets, and long range putting (a crucial part of any good game). Or if you're good enough, to just try and throw aces.

Sometimes the Davis hobos hang out around the picnic area (by basket 2 and tee 3), and there is lots of broken glass in this area, so be careful where you step. Basket 9 is placed by playground equipment, which is also very poor course layout.

It would also be a good course to play a game of 18 hole Ript on with a group of friends, because its short and fun.

The course overlaps itself once (#5 throws perpendicularly across #3 & #4), which is just poor design, but it really doesn't matter because there is never anyone else playing.

I just use it for putting/approach practice, and that's about all you should play Oxford Circle for.

  Davis' only offical course

Pros: Great location for a group game. Picnic Tables nearby if you're in the mood for a picnic. The course has been known to be played backwards to mix things up for the locals. Easy parking and accessibility from freeway. Nice signs for each hole.
Cons: Surrounded by apartments and dorms. Best time to play is during the morning hours, before you become consumed by the summer heat.
Other Thoughts: The park, known to some as "hobo park" , so beware to those who seek night game adventures. This course, is perfect for groups of friends, and beginners.

Pros: It's a fantastic course to putt on, if you just need a little work. It's probably really cool to have by if you live in those dorms.
Cons: You can't drive and can barely do medium putts. Parking is usually horrid during the school year and when it warms up, there are people all over the park, sunbathing, making it pointless to play.
Other Thoughts: Check out http://daviswiki.org/Disc_Golf

The site has some interesting resources and a couple of examples of "makeshift courses", including one on the UCD campus, which is very fun if done while school is out (ie summer, holidays or sundays). If you want to play actual basket disc golf, go to woodland.

Pros: easy to navigate. good to take out your putter and work on your putting.
Cons: way too straight, way too short, the holes are un-inventive and boring.
Other Thoughts: All you need is a mid range and putter, if that. a good course if your close by and want to work on your approach and putts for a real course.

Pros: Easy to play. Good for people new to the game.
Cons: Course is not challenging at all.
Other Thoughts: I met a Davis local while playing the course. He told me they put in the park and baskets around 1973 and they haven't moved the baskets since then! The baskets are in need of repair and the layout is absolutely awful. He had his own version of the course, which I found to be much better. If no one else is playing, I suggest you make up your own course.

 Waste of baskets

Pros: It's there
Cons: Some of the chains on baskets are missing and there is a playground around some of the holes. Shots are way too short and not challenging.
Other Thoughts: They should probably put the baskets somewhere else. There's lots of open space in davis.

Pros: Near the frat houses, college town.
Cons: It is in a congested area, the field is short and easy, not much to it.
Other Thoughts: Not every park is meant for disc golf, it's more like someone's practice course.

Pros: Good for beginners who can't throw very far.
Good for putting practice.
Cons: *The park is fairly well maintained but some of the baskets have been abused pretty badly and are broken or crooked.
*Pedestrian Hazards - In between many of the UCDavis dorms so there are often people walking through or sitting in the grass.
*Very, very short. One hole is only about 30 feet long with no clear tee.
*Transient hang out + nearby dorms = Sometimes very dirty, beer bottles everywhere.
Other Thoughts: Bring only a putter or approach disc. If you don't live in the area, don't bother visiting. It's hardly worth it even if you do live here.
