Current ly Throwing disc 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 14, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

+Located at the center of the campground, there is a small kiosk with course maps/scorecards, a map of the area parks, and about 15 loaner discs! I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were loaners in there. I figured that somebody would steal them all even though they were inked up.
+Decent variety of distances on this course. Overall on the shorter side but a few longish holes as well.
+There were a fair amount of trees that forced certain lines or at least limited easy ones.
+Tees were marked with concrete on the ground. Not an actual tee but a very permanent marker.
+Good Innova baskets.
+There was some elevation here. Not a lot but enough to make 6-9 more interesting.
+Nice campground area with dock, beach, bathrooms, playground. Wasn't too busy that it really interfered with disc golfing.
+Shouldn't lose a disc here. Your worst chance would be 5-6 if you throw into the grassy rough.

Cons:

-Natural tees. In fine shape but concrete is always better.
-No signage (map certainly helps)
-On a busy summer weekend, it might be sketchy playing certain parts of this course. Most holes play near another park activity and you might have to wait and/or skip holes.
-Overall, a more beginner oriented course.
-Can be super windy and the course is open enough.
-Overall design is ok. No holes have much of a WOW factor. No risk/reward holes. No fun lake OB or water hazard.

Other Thoughts:

Best holes- 4,8,9
4: The most wooded hole on the course. You have to keep it low and hit one of two main gaps to have a chance at the pin. It's not too long, not too short. A two is a decent challenge and is fun to get. Could be punished with a 4 if you miss the gap and then don't approach well.
8: Down a slight grade to a protected basket. Do you go high with a big RHFH hyzer? Do you go low and left with a skip shot? Straight at the basket with a super straight mid?
9: Not too long but the uphill makes it play longer. A big tree to your right and a whole row to your left. The line of trees on your left make you keep it low.

This course is ok. If you expect a peaceful campground round with mid-quality DG, you won't be disappointed. Don't travel far for this one but worth a stop if you're passing by.

Decent length course with lots of wind 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 10, 2019 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

-Good obstruction with trees-Loaner discs available for use-Lots of maps to help find tees-Good variation in hole length-Quality baskets

Cons:

-Near a lake, so it's always going to be very windy-Even with a map, the tees are hard to find-Next to a campground so you'll get the fish guts smell

Other Thoughts:

I'm 20 minutes away and won't be playing it again, it's just not worth the drive.

Respectable Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Feb 19, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Excellent Disccatcher Baskets, didn't look like they had been touched when I played there
-Not incredibly short, with most holes over 230 and one at 410
-Some interesting shots through trees (Hole 3, 4, and 8)
-Nice Scenery by the lake

Cons:

-Natural tees were hard to locate when I played, looked like they had areas to put markers in though?
-Tees were sloppy when I played there, very muddy
-The water wasn't incorporated into the course
-Many flat holes with no obstacles

Other Thoughts:

Where was this course before? It says it was established in 2015 but no one ever wrote anything on it. I live 20 minutes from it but had never heard of it. Very beginner friendly but still fun to play for more experienced players. If you're in the Marshall/Balaton area consider stopping by for a fun, quick round.
