Nice diverse course in 9 holes
3 Helpful / 0 Not
Pros: -New signage with a map and new tee signs for all holes
-Good mix of open holes, tree lined holes (or at least alcoves for the hole location)
-Some hills, but not punishing
-Concrete Tees
-Upkeep is fair
Cons: -Could use more benches and trashcans
-Flow from 7 to 8 is a little clunky (back down the hill and right of the maintenance building)
-Only facilities are across the road and pit toilets
Other Thoughts: Nice course tucked in the little town of Bertram. Park in the park and the course is across the road. Improved with new signage in 2019. Good mix of open and trees. Good use of the area, disc golf only area. Have played twice and would play again.

Unfinished?

Pros: -Concrete tees
-Beautiful little course that surrounds a rather large hill
-Some well designed lanes
-Combination of wooded and open lanes
Cons: -No markers at tees
-Park is beautiful but course feels unfinished
-Only 9 holes but it seems like there might be 10, in other words the course can get confusing
Other Thoughts: This course could be a hidden gem (and would have gotten a better score) but the lack of markers makes the layout confusing and a bit frustrating.
If you play, and I recommend that you do, Start at the tee near the gate where you drive in. This will get you easily to the 7th lane. Baskets 8 & 9 are the puzzle, 9, maybe it's 9-I'm not sure, is surrounded by trees making it a near impossible basket, but maybe it's a practice basket...I just don't know.
The rest of the course is pretty, but small. I was there in January, so it looked like death, but I got the sense that with just a little bit of elbow grease it could be an amazing three season course..
It's quick to play but if you add in the two smaller courses in Mt. Vernon (just a few miles away-and each one is very unique), it could be a fun day.
Update: Summer of 2018, the course has been cleaned up a bit since the winter an it looks much better. Also found the tee pad for the 1st hole, it's back deep next to the garage/shed on the driveway. Really like playing it now, it's a fun short course with a few challenges. It's not perfect but it's one of the better small town courses I've been to.
