3 practice baskets in an small area across the road from #2 on the North Course.
These where the cheap "black hole" baskets that someone cemented the base on the ground. One small tap from a mower and the basket is going down. Probably why there are only 3 baskets left of this once 9 hole course.
With the North and South courses getting all new baskets and tee pads, this course has long been forgotten.
Asking Tim to change this to a practice area, it is no longer resembling a course

Warming Up for the Tone Poles 2+ years

Pros:
- MVP Black Hole baskets (much like DD Recruit)
- decent little practice course with gentle elevation changes

Other Thoughts:
Pardon the late review, but there hasn't been much info on this course and I don't have any indication that things have changed since I played there. This is a 9-hole course(?) in Nichols Park in Henryetta, OK. The park is also home to two very fun and novel tone pole courses. As a course bagger, it was impossible to visit Nichols Park for the North and South courses without stopping by "The Nine." This one is a different flavor, almost entirely open aside for a couple trees in the middle of a field and some more wooded areas at the field's edge, and featuring standard chained baskets. There are some slight elevation changes, with design requiring some minor decision making while dealing with some trees.
I can't really complain, as I believe it's a luxury to have 9 baskets in such an area. It makes for very nice practice (i.e. fieldwork with baskets), but as a course it doesn't warrant too much time or energy. There are likely plans to improve the course layout and tees/signs, and this would be worth a revisit. Nevertheless, the open nature of the setting wouldn't make it real easy to improve the technical challenge.
Getting here: follow directions to Nichols Park. There are two main entry roads (one north of Nichols Lake, and one to the south), and disc golfers should take the northern one. "The Nine" is at the far east of the park, as the park road starts to loop south. It's impossible to miss the 9 black baskets in the field, so just find a place to park and start wherever you will. I started on hole 2 and ended with 1. No biggie, though a little frustrating. If you're like me, you're trying to knock out all three courses in one visit, possibly warming up with this one. Be on the lookout for the novel home-made tone pole targets that look a bit like giant batteries standing vertically.
Rating: I'm going passable (1.5) because I enjoyed the golf shots (mostly as a warmup for better golf). The real downside is that playing here prevented me from spending a bit more time on both tone pole courses, which I enjoyed tremendously.
