Rimrock DGC Just Barely Has A Heart Beat! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 18, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Just when does has a course deteriorated so badly that it should be given it's last rights? Rimrock DGC is teetering on the edge. Only Aunt Sadie wants to keep her on life support. The rest of the family wants to pull the plug. I think what has happened here is the Prineville Recreation Department can't pull the plug and they are just leaving Rimrock to die a slow, painful death. I find it depressing and ugly to witness this example of disc golf putridity.

I played this course nine years ago and I thought she was a goner then. Now, there is an old kiosk. It looks as though it hasn't seen a tournament flyer for years and years. The tee box tells the same tale of woe. There is a sign saying A = 435' and B = 225' playing across the creek. I believe that basket is still standing. Starting at # 2 is when things go south. I found the # 2 basket parallel to the creek. The jungle has taken over the basket.

# 3. Tee pad = ? Basket = Yes. Fairway = No.

# 4. I don't really know.

# 5. Basket = Found.

# 6-7-8. Unknown.

# 9. I think this hole used to play back across the creek. There is a basket over here.

Cons:

Only one hole found and even close to playable. The rest of the course is overgrown and consumed by the jungle like some ancient Inca ruin.

Other Thoughts:

I believe this course could actually be saved here at this small park. Someone who cares would have to reconfigure this course as a very short recreation course or maybe even shorter Pitch and Putt.

I could squeeze maybe five or six holes in starting by the parking lot and playing around the little ball field before having one hole throw over the river and then finishing with maybe two or three holes over there. There are some cleared areas. The holes would have to be short. Don't even think about squeezing in any 300' holes here.

Or perhaps there is some other available land somewhere in Prineville that may be suitable for a 9 hole hole disc golf course?
