Secluded in an area that appears to be dedicated to disc golf and a paved walking trail in the floodplain side of a river, the Sanders Memorial course boasts adequate parking, very good signage (course map with instructions, and detailed tee signs at each of 35 large, level, concrete pads), benches scattered throughout the course, and webbed blue Prodigy baskets that catch extremely well. Distances from the short tees to either of two basket positions per hole range from 148' to 356', and from 224' to 416' from the longs, which will appeal to players from recreational to intermediate skill levels.
Though it opens with a couple of rather vanilla tosses toward the levee and back, you quickly get into the other flavors with three holes that play through light woods with an OB path and some mandos to tighten your accuracy. Then, after an ace run 6th from either tee, you get into some really thick woods/brush for three holes, and go up on top of the levee to see if you can control your rollaway accuracy. And that's just the front nine (well, eleven). The back expands slightly for bigger arms to have some fun, such as the 400 foot long 14th throwing from the long tee on the levee down to the flats below.
The best thing here is that, though the long and short tees don't change lines too often, they do provide a 6 to 7 stroke difference over the course of play, so folks who enjoy shorter courses have the chance here to have as much fun as the guys who enjoy more 'D'.

I'd love to see some next tee signage for visitors to find their way around a little better, particularly when you realize that the tees up ON the levee have no posts (so they can mow), and you might not know to go up there for 10, 11, 14, etc. Another feature they could use here is an indicator of which sleeve the basket is in (A or B), since they appear to mix them.
As far as the disc golf play, I'm always on the lookout for enjoyment and then challenge, and the course isn't set up to really provide the latter for higher skilled players, and I didn't feel a super 'bang' or get too many big grins thinking 'this is a really cool shot'. Sorry. I did like the creative use of the levee elevation to add interest to what otherwise would've been a floodplain course. Speaking of which, they can't control them, but be prepared for bugs here!

Knowing that the first half of 2019 has been an exceptionally rainy stretch, this course is prone to standing water such that some holes become almost unplayable. When I visited, holes 3 & 4 and 7 & 8 were definitely impacted. But I can't mark down for that, since I help maintain a course that's in the same boat, as it were.

Great course for all skill levels, especially for those who are just learning this GREAT sport. There are a few holes that will challenge your skills in the woods, a few holes that are flat and wide open and then there are a few that are elevated along the levee that will challenge your skills in those windy/breezy conditions. The Anderson Disc Golf Club has worked very hard this year, ensuring that there is a Porta-Pot at the course, cleaning/clearing and planting new trees to shape the course in the years to come.

Prone to flooding, No potable/drinking water, No night time security lights in the parking lot. The Parks department is a little slow at keeping it mowed and when they do mow the fairway grass is still about six inches which eliminates and skip shots. MOSQUITOES are HORRENDOUS!!!!!

This park also has a paved walking/jogging/biking trail/picnic area and boat launch to the river. With all the activity this park sees you would think that the City & Parks Department would try to control the mosquitoes better.

Lots of elevation change with the levee, especially on the back nine. Mostly open grassy areas with big beautiful mature trees. Some tighter technical holes with more trees, especially holes 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9. Brand new, sky blue, Prodigy baskets catch great! Nice benches on a couple of holes. Great, level 5' x 12' concrete Red and Blue tees on each hole (except #15). Also A and B pin locations on each hole. Fun course with nice blend of technical holes and open bombers. Can be tough to play and place shots on the levee, especially in the wind! Nice new Course Map sign and Tee signs for each hole on the way soon. Not the longest course, but a great course for Rec and Intermediate to Advanced players. Great location, easy to get to. Not many other users in the park.

No water and somewhat limited parking. No restrooms (but it is near shops with food, beverages and restrooms). Could use more trees.

More trees are on the way soon, this will add to difficulty/fun for the course. Technically there are no water hazards on the course, but you could get there with errant throws on #2 and #17. Would love to see the parks dept. cut "fairways only" in the open areas and let the rest of the grass grow tall.
