Short but fun 2+ years drive by

Pros:

This was a surprisingly fun little course. It appears to be brand new - the tee pads, baskets, and tee signs were all in pristine condition. It was also nicely mowed. This is a course that doesn't seem to get a lot of foot traffic. I played at what should've been a busy time of day, but only one other guy was on the course. The layout makes excellent use of the land available, and provides a nice amount of variety (uphill, downhill, dog lefts, and dog rights) for a 9 hole course. Navigation was pretty straight forward, plus the uDisc app has the course marked out well, too. This would be a very fun 'practice course' if I lived nearby, as the layout + lack of other players lends itself well to safari-style rounds to practice whatever style shots you need to work on.

Cons:

It's a nine holer with no real length to it; I have a very average arm, and even I could reach 7 out of 9 holes with a mid or putter. And while it does have a nice variety of shots, it's painfully lacking a true max distance hole. Even the two longest holes require placement over distance. Additionally, there are a few holes with blind shots and/or bring a street into play. Given that it's on a college campus with pedestrians all over the place, this seems like a potential hazard.
One other minor grumble - hole 9 ends pretty far away from hole 1. That's kind of a nuisance if you plan on playing through twice, and also creates a longer-than-normal walk back to the car after your round.

Other Thoughts:

If I lived nearby, I'd play here fairly regularly because I love places where I can work on my game in peace and quiet. It was fun enough to enjoy, but certainly is not a course that is going to test an above average player's skills. It's a good place to take beginners or to work on your short game.
