Pros:

EJ Roberts is a lovely little 4 hole park. It's a great park to bring the kids to play and practice some putting/upshots. It's a got a nice little sign showing the disc golf rules and course. They have little pads marking the hole number and nice discatcher baskets, with the number on them. It's a great place to take the family or have a nice warmup for south for or one of the other Washington courses. Bathrooms on site and hole 4 is actually a fun technical shot, with a decent length. You only need a putter here and is actually pretty enjoyable place to play and in a very nice friendly neighborhood.

Cons:

Only 4 holes.... only need a putter. Not really a true disc golf course. The sign explaining disc golf and rules is not correct at all

Other Thoughts:

Great place for people to learn the game, or just take the kids and throw awesome addition to the area. Great place to maybe land that first ace

Cute little course 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 4, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

In well maintained city park with short grass, restrooms, a working drinking fountain and Mount Si looming over you. Great place to practice your short game. Interesting holes that play back and forth across a wide but shallow grass covered ravine that meanders through the park. Good baskets. Adequate tees.

Cons:

Strictly pitch and putt, no distance drivers required. The course was mostly empty when I played it (on a sunny Saturday afternoon) but I can see how it might get crowded. However, the ravine it plays across isn't used for anything else so that shouldn't be a problem.

Other Thoughts:

I found this course addicting, I just wanted to keep playing it around and around to see if I could do better. After 6 rounds in an hour I made myself stop, never did birdie #2. For short-game practice I'd rate it a 4 but compared to bigger courses I can only give it a 2. I started with about 8 discs in my bag. After a few rounds I put my bag back in the car and continued with 2 discs, a putter and a driver. I used a fairway driver for #4 because of the low ceiling and distance but I'm sure others could manage with a putter or mid-range.

In the winter, and after a heavy rain, the ravine can partially fill with water, especially on #1. This actually makes it a better hole: you throw over a cute little pond. It can also be very windy here, adding to the challenge. When it is, be careful not to overpower your shot on #3 and end up in the yard across the street. Consider the street and beyond OB.

Easy upshot/putt practice course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Oct 29, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

This course is amazing for practicing up shots and putting, there are four defined holes to play, but the Park has an interesting ravine in it that makes for additional creative holes. You can certainly make up your own course after playing through the entire course.
This course is defined by its simplicity, you can make it whatever you want, you can go round and round forever on the 4 hole layout, but you can also make up your own stuff because the park is generally empty. To keep things interesting, I would play this one with one disc, or pick a disc you don't throw much and get to know it better, this course is how I fell in love with the vibram summit (which you should go try).

Cons:

This course is very short and there is definately room for more holes. The park is small and difficult to access unless you live in North bend or are driving through.
Calling this a "course" is a stretch. It is more of a "disc golf area" in my opinion, I have played several courses that have multiple baskets with no tees in sight that seem to have a defined layout, this course has a defined layout, but it is so small that I don't know if it counts or not. Don't get me wrong, if I lived in north bend, I would be here almost everyday going crazy on the high quality, almost brand new DISCatchers, but unless you are dying of curiosity, you don't need to drive out to this one.

Other Thoughts:

Not an actual course, just a putting practice area. Leave your drivers and mids at home.

Danny DeVito Short! 2+ years

Pros:

EJ Roberts is a small city park in North Bend, WA. with some interesting topography. The park has restrooms, a ballfield, picnic shelter and scattered picnic tables all set under a canvas of mature, Douglas Fir trees. The city has just recently purchased another parcel of acreage so perhaps the course can expanded in the future. The disc golf course has been a joint effort between a young man doing an Eagle Scout project and the city who purchased the nice, new Discatcher baskets.

Currently there are four holes. There is a course map but reasons unknown, it's over by the # 3 tee. The tee pads are marked by two blocks set in the ground. They have the hole # and an arrow painted on them.

Hole # 1 is a 130' estimated, straight shot. There are some trees but if you can easily avoid them.
Hole # 2 is about 160' straight shot to a basket kind of sitting on a very small hill.
Hole # 3 is a straight throw to a basket about 125'. It's very similar to the first two in that there are trees but they're aren't difficult to miss.
Hole # 4 is more challenging playing about 200' to a basket tucked between three small trees. You need to keep your first shot low so as to avoid low branches.

I could be tempted to just keep playing # 2 and # 3 continuously. They form a nice easy little loop.

Cons:

The course does not loop back.

This small park seems busy with other users. Exercise caution when throwing.

Pitch and putt difficulty and length.

Only four holes.

No signs.

The little hillside leading up to the # 3 basket is already showing some signs of erosion. This would be an excellent place for some engineering to be performed as in some stairs being built.

Other Thoughts:

When I arrived, I was invited to play along with a group of five locals. They had played the first four holes and then were making up safari holes to complete an 18. This might be an indication of the course's readiness when the group most responsible for getting the course installed here, are after less than two weeks of playing it, already creating their own, more challenging layouts. They need to be extra careful when playing across larger sections of the park as there were quite a few toddler aged children out and about.

Because I enjoyed chasing Aces here, I will be generous and award this course a 2.0. I know many reviewers wouldn't be quite so kind.

Great 4 hole pitch and putt course. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 1, 2017 Played the course:once

Pros:

Exposure for disc golf being located in a small park in a residential neighborhood.

Cons:

Only the short length resulting from the small size of EJ Roberts Park.

Other Thoughts:

Possible expansion into a 9 hole course if more acreage became available.
