4. Push GIR C1 to 45% percent (last 4 years: 40, 41, 42, 44)
5. Improve my form to throw 400+ flat ground at will

1. Stay healthy, stay healthy, stay healthy.
2. Play at least 106 courses to reach 700.
3. Write at least 33 reviews.
4. Take some fun disc golf road trips.
5. Try to defy age and regain some of my lost distance.
6. Or at least don't get any worse. ;)

MY DG GOALS for 2025
  • Play 80+ new courses for the seventh straight year.
  • Replay 20 identified courses that I've visited only once.
  • Increase my DGCR rating from 943 to 948, fwiw.
  • Write 48 more course reviews on DGCR to reach the Diamond Wordsmith level (250 reviews).

-More rounds: Between a couple of injuries and a major home improvement project, I didn't play nearly as many rounds as I would have liked last year.
-More new (to me) courses: No numerical goals, but I want to clear out NW Indiana along with any newer Chicago area courses that have popped up over the last few years. Should get at least one Colorado course on a summer trip. Other than that, I'll be in SW Michigan for a week in July and will be sure to hit some new ones in addition to old favorites. Continue chipping away at central Illinois on trips to visit my sister and her family at the south end of the state.
-More reviews: I've started using the phone to record my thoughts when playing new courses. This should help keep me honest about writing more reviews since I'll have most of the work done before I even get home. Focused on making note of the details that I tend to forget.
-Practice: For a few years now, I've used what time I have for DG to play rounds and have done nearly 0 practice. I want to get back in the habit of putting practice and get in at least a few field sessions.

1. Shoot 1 1000 rated round (current high is 960ish)
2. Finish Top 10 at an A-Tier
3. Win a B-Tier
4. Be above 935 rated at least once
5. Win the local #1 tag in league play and hopefully be able to defend it and show I'm a force to be reckoned with

Getting over 1300 courses played is my main goal. Should be easy enough with the 5 trips I have planned out (so far).

I like Zontar's goal too. Not that I've even really attempted to work on it. This year my other goal is to not pretend like I'm going to work on my forehand and then never do it. I'll just act like that type of shot is below my skill level and keep throwing an Uplink which almost negates the need for a FH anyway. And keep enjoying the evil eye I get from Mrs. wolf everytime I pull out that "cheater" disc. :p

1. Play some of the events I played last year but shoot a better score. Especially at paw paw and coyote hills.

2. Shoot a 1000+ rated round in competition.

3. Learn to throw righty backhand because forehand is the only throw that causes me pain.

4. Make the pdga angry.

5. Teach a friend or two to throw further.

1. Continue to consume & enjoy DG like I have for the past 2 years
2. Play 2 new to me courses to get to 5 total
3. Consistently throw drives over 200'
4. Make my 1st legit birdie in an official round
5. Get my DGCR rating over 700

1) Continue working on my forehand
2) Develop a short game to where I can get up/down consistently within 150'
3) Git gud on C1 putting
4) Try swearing less and not becoming another Nikko
5) Repeat 1-4 as needed
