As someone who travels around the country taking road trips dedicated to disc golf, it would be great if there was an app, network, or central location to find public and private courses that allow overnight stays.

Even if it's not at the course parking lot per se, a campground within the same park as the course would be nice. I know you can sort by "camping nearby", but it's not entirely helpful.

Ideally, this would be something like Harvest Host that RVers use. That site is a collection of breweries, wineries, farms, golf courses, and more that allow you to stay overnight, often have electrical hookups, and simply ask for you to buy something from them. Well, I'd gladly pay for a round if I could stay right onsite of a amazing disc golf course. Boondockers Welcome is another.

Anyone know of something like this catering to disc golfers or disc golf courses?

Being an RVer, I know exactly what HH and BW are. Have not heard of anything similar for DGers, but it would be great to have. As you mentioned, the "Camping Nearby" checkbox seems to be the closest we have.

Go ahead and get a site started, could be a good part time job for you! :D

"Camping Onsite" would be a better button.

I suppose then I'd need another for "Maximum Length, Truck+Trailer"!

I wish I were that kind of an app developer! I'm just a traditional electrical engineer who deals in megawatts, and not nanotechnology, or computer programming.

You do find that info within reviewed from time to time. For the moment, that would probably be the best place to house it.

My initial thought was that the shortest cut would be to add a "camping onsite" option to course descriptions, and travelers could filter by it.

But then, of course, we'd run into the same round peg/square hole problem we do with so many features. Sorting out actual campgrounds with hookups and bath houses from places you can simply park in the yard; sorting out campsites that are open year-round vs. places that can be used at select times or with special permission; sorting out camping on or near the course, vs. camping in the same park but 2 miles away. And all the separate specifications about vehicle size, etc., that you need for campgrounds.

Which makes me think of a separate app or service, but then I wonder how comprehensive it would be, and whether property owners would keep the info current. Some of us don't even do that well, with the courses themselves, updating all of the services and websites where we may be listed.

Which brings me to thinking that it's probably a very small market. Our private course has had lots of visitors over the years, representing at least half the states, but I can only recall a couple who were traveling by RV or camping nearby.
