So Mr Heimburg is of course one of the greatest disc golfers of all time. My body shape is nothing like his, and I've got at least a decade of additional age as well. So most of the time Calvin is not a pro I try to emulate much. I love watching him play, but I largely just appreciate the spectating.
However, in my continued nose angle fun, I did stumble upon one of Calvin's quirks that work for me. Before he throws a backhand, he often grabs the disc in his throwing hand, then flicks the disc up against his off hand. Often while being otherwise stationary and visualizing his line.
I've been steadily improving my nose angle. I've gone from an average of 6-8deg up to almost neutral over a ~year. Plenty of nose down throws, but not always on demand.
I try to use just enough wrist pronation to allow clean supination along the wrist/elbow/shoulder. And I discovered that Calvin's quirky flicks work as a great priming motion for that supination. Using tech disc and some on course throwing, I think I get about an extra 1-2deg down priming myself with the Calvin fidget on each throw.
Perhaps it becomes less important over time, but for now it's a great "feel" for flopping the back of the disc up (and the nose down) just before I go into the full throw.
