[MVP] MVP Disc Sports (Part VI)

Liking his initial pixel choice, given the new technology Pixel/Tempo is a killer 1/2 punch. I have theorized I could.. maybe.. maybe drop the envy.

So last year I dropped my envy/watt for the tempo/pixel. It worked well enough, but I always felt like something was holding me back. After switching back tot he envy/watt my game has tangibly improved as a result. I think if I had a larger bag I would like the tempo to be there beside the toro, but my bag is a bit compact and so I have dropped the tempo for now.

Oddly enough, I throw my envy farter than the tempo, pretty consistently. Though I don't know if that is odd as much as it is the envy seemingly having more glide. I also spent the last 2-3 years absolutely shuffling my bag but I am happy with where it is at now and my goal is to keep it locked in for 2025 (i.e. no new molds in the bag) but I probably will still test some stuff out in the field.

Available for pre-order Eagle McMahon Cosmic Neutron Range. Love my Eclipse Range, this will be a yes for me. I've only thrown a Cosmic Neutron Photon once, first hole Blockhouse Sunnyside course a favorite of Conrads. Clipped a branch, splash, only cosmic I've thrown. I do strong wind putting with a Cosmic Firm Electron Atom, some competition there.

Jeremy Koling Particle Glow Proton Tempo was teased at the end of the Gyro Jerm video last week. Looks like Metalflake I had before losing a Roc and Teebird before my bag flip. Enjoy my proton and eclipse, this will be a yes. This is the start of new glow technology.

You can pre-order today at OTB or elsewhere. Looks like release next month.

When I started flipping the bag over I though no way my Star Wraith would get bumped out, then I picked up the Fission Photon so.............. Photon was just much more consistent, and I spent a lot of time throwing them side by side before I decided to deep six the Wraith.
Lol, I tried an Elaine King fizzy Photon a few years ago. It had this gross, mega-floppy flight plate and flew like a Mamba. Shame on me for buying it even after feeling it up in person.

Glad you "flipped your bag". More Wraiths for me and I have a bunch of them.

A bunch of Wraiths? If I knew you were searching for a good Wraith I would of gifted you mine, I only needed one 😀. The Conrad Fission Photon not fllippy new, after about a year starts getting there. The difference between the two for me, more push down fairway before breaking into a fade Photon.

A good memory with the Wraith playing a course with Spanish moss. Some throws watching the Wraith brush aside the moss with no effect on it from elevated tees.

The envy. I .. Just can't drop it from my bag. Even if I don't throw it, my game suffers. I dont understand why.
I duno. I just can't do no envy.

It's like a safety blanket. or something. hahaha.

Though, the tempo wont replace the envy. I bag both. The tempo just doesn't have the glide the envy does.

Well, thanks for posting this.
I told some guy he was smoking crack cause he was talking about MVP having a new plastic. and I guess I was wrong. cause it was a hint photo from something else and it looks just like metal flake proton. but.. nope.
I was wrong.

Haha thanks for the video and the tag but man that actually looks horrible

In other news I absolutely nailed it this weekend with a gift from a friend an ethereal TSA buddha praxis. Threw an awful lot like a pixel.

That could be the way I feel in about 4-6 weeks. I'm using that Eclipse Range as much as possible an easy stable throw. A bright color Cosmic for leaf season performing close enough to the Eclipse. That pink Bergx may not see the bag again. I get about one grip lock per round and can't stand it.

It would seem that I would be able to put some fade on the Cosmic Neutron. I can put a little turn on the Eclipse. The Koling Tempo should be stable, hope to turn it. My Proton is stable, I can fade the Eclipse.

Hahaha, how long did it take you to catch on. When they threw off the first tee I was like wtf, they looked as bad as I do. Same feeling watching the Aluminum Glitch. I would like to have that Glitch. Gotta love Simon.

Haha pretty much.

Just seems like they got the worst of both worlds on that hybrid. What a mess! But fun to watch... and the frustration haha. I wonder how a pixel rim and an envy plate would do... probably be a real flip turd.

If you've thrown a lot of discs, You can generally catch on in 3 maybe 4 throws.
Pro's are exceptionally good at this because they know how to do stuff better than us.

About 90% of the time I can look at a disc an tell how it will fly and get some level of control over it in 3 or 4 throws. But I can't work the discs as quickly as these guys can. I don't have the power for starters to push push the discs, but usually I know its limitations with my abilities in 10-20 throws.

I was actually surprised by how much they underestimated the stability of the disc in this video.
However. Conrad throws Electron envy's, which dont usually have any fade.
And simon is a proxy guy, says the envy is to overstable.
And Big Jerm obviously is a rookie on the molds still.

So, how I'd approach this disc is "envy flight but more drag, so its gonna fade harder." because of the higher profile of the pixel.

But even when you get good at predicting flights based on the look of the disc. I've thrown discs a few times where I'm dead sure it will fly a certain way, and it doesn't. One of the lonestar discs did that to me. It looked like an instant roller when you threw it.
And.. I ooopsed and pushed 450+ with it. I was trying to throw a soft 300 foot shot. I ended up on the 18th green while players were still playing the tournament. I had to run down and get it. Thank god nobody was on the hole.

But when you looked at the disc, it looked like and old #2 Helix. Parting line super super low. No real lower wing. good consistent curve into the dome.
You look at a disc like that and it's gonna be a flip city disc.
Nope. this sucker just went bomber city straight forever.

Yeah that Pixvy looked like a turd and seemed to fly like one too.

I grabbed a couple of glow Praxis a few years ago after I fell in love with the Ohm and was freaking because I couldn't find them anywhere. My take was it was a touch faster than the Ohm and it didn't handle a FH as well. Cool putter but the Ohm works better for me. Hanging onto them since TSA has gained a following, maybe I can retire on them in a few years.

Yeah ohm is solid, I had the same worry when I couldn't find them. Damn good disc. The pixel was tried out because of the soft electron plastic the ohm isn't available in. Haha

Being a big Ohm guy myself, it is a bit frustrating at times with how difficult they can be to get. I have a pretty large stack now though too as well with some proton ohm's, but they did those test runs in the 150 class. and.. ugh they are hard to throw or putt with.

Just remember, Ohm is a Gyro Pilot.

I actually practice putt usually with some electron pilots I have here. Because before the Ohm, I was all Pilot. Flight/throw wise they are the same. The electron is a tad straighter though, cause electron tends to be a bit straighter in putters.

My biggest problem with the Ohm though is some of the really early runs broke in really good and just stayed there.
So, my primary putter has flown the same for like 3 years now.
And I cannot get a single other putter to beat in at all.

I've got 2 here that are just trashed beat in that are not very reliable for throwing or putting anymore, but .. just these first 3 I got. They seasoned well.
Then.. Like the backup putter I got now.
It's... held the same flight for 2 years.
I throw rollers with it, I kiss tree's with it. It don't care. I couldn't even get my proton pilots to hold like this.

I've been bagging the same soft proton Ohm for well over a year. I don't throw it a lot since the Berg takes most shots under 200'. It started pretty neutral/true to the numbers and has stayed there. I have 3 backups and some neutron that are gathering dust now.

Someone needs to get one in Jerm's hands so he can flick it. He'd like it but all their top dudes are pimping signature putters, kinda crowded in there.

It really would be nice to get a lot of them to try out some of the more obscure stuff to get some lvoe for it.

Yeah I do feel bad how the ohm has fallen by the way... I was also kind of cheesed off when Simon didn't really put the Tesla on the top of his list, and then he's like oh wow this thing's great. No s*** Sherlock

It's funny how some of their best discs are terribly underrated. Bring back the switch haha that thing did stuff. But it wasn't anywhere near what the numbers indicated.

I kind of feel like big Jerm might throw some beat envy and then have some overlap kind of issues, then again might be electron tempos in the future instead. Which would probably be sweet. 😋
