In The Bag - 2025
Several changes since my last update of 2024. Here's what I'm starting off the year with.

Putting Putters
- X Soft APX: Starting to miss right. Might be time to change for another one.
- Elite Pro APX: Seasoned to go on a frozen rope for anything under 100 feet. Also used for some nice turning upshots under 150. Very reliable.
Unchanged from last year, but I doubt the yellow one lasts the whole year.

Throwing Putters
- Proton Soft Ion: A welcome surprise addition. Given a hyzer release it pops up and slowly moves right the whole flight. Very useful for 200-225ft shots I don't want to flick a Zone at.
- Star Invader: Straight and reliable as ever, now in dayglo yellow.
- Star Alien: Another interesting additon. It's a low-glide disc which is important because it can be used for straighter forehand approaches, and the rim shape means little to no ground play. Can get to about 240 reliably off the tee if needed.
- Neutron Envy: Still as good as ever. A little more seasoned so gets some nice longer flip ups.
- Eclipse Envy: More overstable than all other Envys. Good to put power on for a smooth backhand hyzer.
- Z Zone GT: realized pretty quickly that the Zone and Zone GT fly the same. So this was next up in the lineup.
A good solid set of throwers, more varied than last year. The main thought is that it's possible the Neutron Envy is no longer necessary because of the Alien. But we'll see.

Mid-Ranges
- Neutron Uplink: a mold that I got rid of, then decided recently I needed a longer backhand turning disc and would give it another try. A friend had one in his trunk and now it's in the bag.
- ESP Buzzz SS: Still a reliable slow turn, finish straight mid.
- Seasonal Glo Buzzz SS: trying out the stability of this one compared to the Buzzz. Haven't played a mid-heavy course yet so it's only gotten a few throws.
- Eclipse Reactor: Still a great 5/5/0/2 flight. Big sweeping hyzers.
- 400 MX-1: Still a perfect hand fit, has a harder fade than a Zone and gets a little more distance.
I'm getting decent consistency with throwing mids backhand. Not perfect, but they push up to 260 sometimes.

Fairway Drivers
- Fission Crave: This one at 162g is a great 300ft long turning forehand disc.
- Fission Crave: This one is too similar (even though it's 175g) and won't be staying. But I only bought the possible replacements a few days ago and haven't had a round to try them out with.
- Steady Cookie: gets a nice little flip, but consistent fade.
- Neutron Resistor: roughly the same flight, but in a lighter weight so it gets more skip. It's likely one of these two will knock the other one out of the bag.
- Sunny Cookie: holds straight but does not turn. Great for 275-300ft uphill power shots that have to fade. And stays in great shape. You'd barely know I've thrown this thing at least 125 times the past year.
- Eclipse Resistor: Still extremely stable, yet workable. I tried a Discraft Xtreme, and that is basically a 6-speed Tilt (read: unusable), so the Resistor still holds the spot for crashing spike shots or low, fast skip shots up to 325ft.
Very happy with my lineup here even though I have a few tweaks to make. Getting consistent 300+ distance with these.

Control Drivers
- Mint Jackalope: has been in and out of the bag due to being such a niche shot. But it still executes the reverse fading left turn perfectly so for now it stays.
- Cosmic Neutron Insanity: Only lost one this year. A great long turn and reliable fade disc.
- Plasma Amp: Due to my December ace, I'm back to Plasma plastic for the Amp. This is the more beat up of the two I have left, so it's going in first. Still a little finicky, but when it hits its line there's nothing like it.
- ?: What is this? Well, it's a slot I'm currently working to fill. Wanting something in between the -1.5/1 of the Amp, and the -1/3 of the Feedback. In the running right now are a Tesla, a Vandal, a CD1, and a Phenom. More details can be found in an upcoming 'Surge Philosophizes' post.
- 400 Feedback: Still a perfect baby Wraith. If you know the Wraith, take off 80ft and that's what this flies like. Have to find out what the new version is called now that KJ is gone.
- Neutron Fireball - Light, fast, and skippy. Great to get far over to the right for anything over 325.
Except the extreme under and overstable discs, these are all going right up to about 360.

Distance Drivers
- Pro Wraith: Roller disc
- Pro Line Rogue: To get a distance driver left as a forehand player, this is the one.
- Star Racer: Bridges the gap between a Wraith and a Destroyer. Perfect for my open air max-distance yokes.
- Star Wraith: Does this need explanation?
- Champion Wraith: The very best run of Wraiths. I've found some backups but I hope to keep this one around a while longer.
- Halo Champion Wraith: Very stable. Workable on max distance.
These all get at least 375, and the Racer maxes out at about 425 on a good day.

New bag this year, upgraded to the Combat Ranger.
Will update as things rotate in/out.
