Oh, so it's an "operation" now, it's it?

Man just... like... not much is happening on the site over the summer, mmkay?

Is achieving diamond even still possible? Perhaps even a herculean effort at this point would yield few unique votes I assume. Real talk: the site isn't what it used to be and there are only a few of us left who actually contribute to the review side on a regular basis in a meaningful way.

What are the odds that you guys all end up on a no fly list before hitting diamond?

To the artist formerly known as sillybiz' point, I don't think it's possible for a new reviewer to hit diamond any more. I doubt there are 50 unique people voting on reviews anymore. Much less 250.

I'm at 779/208. I figure 20-25 more reviews will get me to 1000 thumbs up, but maybe 2-3 new uniques if I'm lucky. I'll keep playing new courses and writing reviews, but there's no chance of ever getting diamond. There are plenty of people who joined later than me, but have wrote way more reviews that won't ever get in either.

Last year at this time, I was stuck in the 220's. I made it to Diamond as the year ended (so, about 30 in 3 months).

In addition to continuing to write, I looked for people who played courses I had reviewed, but weren't among my uniques. I DM'd them, asked them to look at my review, tell me if they thought I had missed anything, and ask them to upvote if they thought it was deserved. If they had written reviews,I made sure to thank them, tell them how it specifically helped me bag the course, etc. If we had played a lot of courses in common, I made sure to mention some of my favorites.

I think I got 1 unique per 10 or so requests.

It was an effort, but I was tired of just waiting around.

I picked up 2 new uniques within a few days of each other recently. I was at a standstill for months before that. It's possible still, it's just harder than it used to be.

I have no doubt in my mind that every one of the main posters on this thread will get to the big time. The uniques come in bunches and then nothing happens for what seems like an eternity. 1000 is the easy part. If it was easy it wouldn't even be worth chasing anyway.

I talk shit but that's because these young bucks are killing it and I love to see it. This thread was cold because y'all are out doing work like everyone else. The weather's going to get colder too and that's when the uniques will happen. Less actual playing and more planning next years trips.

Plus all these dudes are like little brothers to me. Someone needs to keep them in line.

It's hard, we don't have that many new users overall. I have done around 50 reviews this year and gotten 4 uniques I think.

Possible maybe, but difficult. Especially since a lot of people only read reviews of courses they play, so if you don't hit different areas it's a more limited pool.

key to getting Diamond

Play popular courses in different parts of the country.

I had a high number of "likes" but always from the same people. I noticed when I review popular courses, I get more unique "likes"

I did review some popular courses to get that diamond, then went back to reviewing courses that had no reviews.

BTW, everyone here should say what makes this "OG" site better as far as reviews go on this YouTube page.

THE DIAMONDS THINK IT'S QUIET IN HERE SO LET'S GIVE A LOUD CONGRATS.

@danhyzer is our newest member! Vote score is the only thing keeping him from diamond so he might not be here long, but for now, welcome to the club Dan!
We had one course in common (I played it about a year before he did, so I gave him a slight nudge.

Also, here's a fun stat. Diamond TRs have submitted 706 reviews in 2024. CZ TRs have submitted 441

Average # of reviews per Diamond member: 13.07
Average # of reviews per Cubic Zirconia member: 15.75
Well, wolfhaley probably submitted about 600 of those!!
