Where are you going in 2024?

That looks like a lot of high profile courses.
Let us know when you drill down on the details, I'm going to head up to Highbridge, probably one of the next two Saturdays.
Yeah.....we only play one course a day for the most part and have become high end baggers. [Bougie Baggers] [Boutique Baggers]

It looks like we are going to get up to HB the first week in Oct. Hopefully with BogeyNoMore in tow.

My partner and I will be in Iceland for almost two weeks next month. We have our trip pretty well planned out and I'm getting excited!

We're obviously doing a lot of non-DG stuff, but I'm planning to play several rounds while there which will be my first courses outside of the US.

Beyond the reviews, looks like I'll need to do some serious course info updates on here for pretty much every course I hit. I'm up for the challenge!

I got one more for sure trip lined up this year. Fly to Reno and out of Sacramento in mid September. Mostly for Lake Tahoe stuff but the usual bagging along the way. No idea how many new courses I'll play this year but it's gotta be a personal best already I'd guess.

Did a day trip for 6 courses on Saturday. One excellent and five horrendous ones. Running out of steam...

Did get a round in with @pmay5 at one of my favorite newer private courses today. Then played it again solo. That was a good time. Hopefully we can meet up again while he's still over here poaching my courses :p
I really need to get a day of stinkers in. My average rating is up to 2.75 and it's unquestionably because I've been playing too many excellent courses.

My Aunt was there last year, you have probably already heard this, but be sure to sign up for the "Northern lights visible wake up call" at your hotel. If you are that close, you don't want to sleep through their display.

Got a party out toward Kalamazoo this weekend. Stopping on my drive out to hit an urban tournament in Battle Creek. They have a "social district" where you are allowed to grab a beer/ mixed drink and walk around a certain part of downtown. I played last year and had a blast. Throwing around buildings, lots, sculptures is a riot. Got to play with the provided Wizard though.........yuck.

Wow....I missed this. Very exciting stuff. Iceland is pretty high on our bucket list. Hope you have blast and get to see some "lights".

Yes! I'm not sure if the wake up calls are offered by the places we are staying at, but thanks for the reminder to look out for that! We were very fortunate to see the aurora here in lower Michigan this May when there was the big solar storm. That was one of the driving factors behind us choosing to go to Iceland this year, and after what is normally their peak tourist season.

Just returned from a 5-week road trip with Mrs. Mono and the dog, playing 52 new courses in 12 states. Main disc golf accomplishments:

3 new states (Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah), completing all 50 US states, plus DC and British Columbia. The Hawaii trip took less than 24 hours, leaving at 9am and returning on a red eye at 7am the following morning. No hotel required!

3 new top state courses (by the old criteria of 11 reviews):
Blue Mountain in MT
Zephyr Cove in NV
Leaning Rock – Canyon in WY (I was review #11)

Pixel ace on a Marksman basket, <200' and wide open

Red Dog is now up to 342 courses in 45 states, but seems unlikely to bag Alaska or Hawaii. ;)

In other dog-related news, we now have a 3-yo Pug mix from a rescue in the Bay Area. Pug hit 4 courses on the way home, but I don't expect to track his stats.

Non-disc golf highlights: Digging dinosaur fossils in Wyoming, grilling Thai steak salad for friends in Montana, Mrs. Mono's fused glass creations, driving down the Columbia gorge, soaring redwoods along Route 101, a fog-shrouded "view" of the Golden Gate Bridge, and visiting with friends and family.

Disc golf highlights:

Findley State Park – Main: We camped here, played the main course in the evening, and the putter course the following morning. I love camping at a disc golf site.

Sandy Point Resort: Super fun short course with super nice hosts.

Superior Municipal Forest: Thanks to @Darkgreen for tour guide services!

Makoshika – Buccaneer: Crazy course, baskets on top of mesas, I'd love another crack at this one.

Diamond X – Original: Another crazy extreme course, I wasn't sure Red Dog was going to make it down that last boulder. Thanks to @brentjacobs and @ThrowBot for dragging me around the course!

Blue Mountain: Just a gorgeous mountain course

Horning's Hideout – Meadow Ridge: One of the first disc golf videos I ever watched was Greg Barsby and Zoey Andyke playing here. Glad to finally play it myself!

Camp Serene: Really fun, totally wooded private course. We were fortunate to play a round with the course designer, who was extremely accommodating and can huck a disc!

Dexter Park: Just a lovely round of disc golf among the tall firs

Brooktrails: Gorgeous course among the redwoods, with nice elevation on a few holes

Kona Pig DGC: Short but challenging private course on the Big Island, and my first time playing disc golf with pigs. Owners were extremely accommodating, thanks!

Zephyr Cove: Elevation and trees, super fun (especially after going straight uphill the first eight holes lol)

The Fort – Long: Not super long but extremely demanding with regard to where your drives land. I did not manage to throw in from the "holy shot" teepad, sadly. Certainly not with an Envy.

Leaning Rock – Canyon: Wow, one of the most extreme courses I have ever played, especially in the hot sun.

Opdycke Park: Friendly little wooded 18, perfect for the last leg of a long trip.

What a trip!!! Sounds like an awesome time all around.

Yesterday I finished adding the Lansing, MI area to my collection. My employer gives me paid time off every Friday afternoon between Memorial Day and Labor Day, and I use that time to take afternoon mini trips and bag 3-5 courses at a time.

Overall, the Lansing area has lots of solid options - albeit few to no spectacular ones. My last few reviews will be up in the coming days, but my three highlights were:
1. Burchfield Park - Renegade's Trail
2. Sleepy Hollow State Park
3. Tadpole Beach

Next up as already mentioned above - Iceland!

That's awesome you were able to take some mini weekend trips to knock out new areas. Burchfield park is definitely one of the better ones around Lansing. Sounds like you're making good progress!

I had the best trip in France last month - I visited Paris and Nice. Thanks so much to my guide from France Private Tours & Local Tour Guides for the wonderful trip, they showed me a great time in both cities!

Been home for 2 weeks so it is time to travel again. ;)

Van trip to Delaware next week. Van has been everywhere in the lower 48 except Delaware and Florida, so it will be nice to check off the easy one. Also hoping to bag more of the Eastern Shore.

Also planning an October airplane trip to Detroit and surroundings. Main goal is Kensington Toboggan, but lots of other courses in the area. I will start a separate thread to solicit suggestions for that trip. :)

Long time reader, first time commentator so pardon me if this doesnt fit this thread. I am a Wisco native who has lived in Colorado since 2016 but moving to South Dakota (black hills area) in a week. Weather pending, I am trying to hit up Jackson Park in Rapid City and Pageant Hill in Custer before snowboarding, aka damn near kill myself, season starts.

Welcome aboard! Always nice to see new reviews too.

May have already said this fairly recently, but I'm leaving on the next road trip next Tuesday. Northern Wisconsin and UP - highlights are returns to Highbridge, Sandy Point, and maybe Tailings, and lots of new stuff in UP, predominantly Marquette and Escanaba areas. All set for another 5 days of sleep deprivation and endless drivin' and discin' ;)

In one week from now me and the wife will be in Reno NV. Planning on bagging a bunch of things over there. Zephyr Cove, Carson Ridge, Lizard Peak, Stampede Reservoir, Bijou, etc.

Then meandering our way out of the mountains to Grass Valley and flying back from Sacramento. Brown's N Bows, Squirrel Creek, Peregrine Point, etc.

Looking forward to getting back into the mountains in the fall. I'll probably toss up a review or two.
