Where are you going in 2024?

Holy smokes. A week into the Lake Michigan circumnavigation disc golf excursion. We have bagged:

O'Hauser in Appleton
Rollin' Ridge
Preserve Lynx
Preserve Timberwolf
Blue Ribbon Pines
Chains Edge Red

Weather is unbelievable....nary a cloud to be found for a week. Working a new mini Zuca I won right before the trip and I am loving it. Meeting Bogey tomorrow at Highbridge. Sounds like he has been bagging his way up the Lake Michigan coast.

Also circumnavigating Lake MI, and yes, the weather's been spectacular. Been catching some nice hints of fall color. Expect the trees will start to look even prettier as I head a bit further north and another few days go by.

Thus far:
Liberty Woods (decent church course that was a convenient leg stretch)
Rollin Ridge
O'Houser Park
Clayton Park
Rookery Run
Sandy Point
Brandy Lake

Gonna met up with ru4 to spend a few days playing Highbridge's offerings. Highbridge has been on my wishlist pretty much as long as I've been on DGCR. 🙂

Then off to Marquette for Powder Mill, Buck Buchanan, and legs permitting, North Bluff.

Crossing into lower MI, for Blissfest and Mt. McSauba.

Was supposed to be in Tampa last week and finally play Cliff Stevens but Helene had other plans. Ended up not going that way after all.

This week ill be going to to USDGC to compete in the Am doubles championship, which should be fun. I've played Winthrop but not Westminster so that should be cool!

Going to the GA coast in October and I've only played a couple down that way, so hopefully will add a couple there. Possibly reschedule Tampa at some point also. Would be good to round out that area some after playing Picnic Island/Showmans/Oldsmar

I'm a couple days away from traveling with three friends to the Greater Charleston (W.V.) area to bag a dozen courses or so. It's our twice-a-year guys' weekend where we take three days and throw until we can barely walk or lift our arms. It's fun. :)

5 of 6 courses at Highbridge completed.

Played Blueberry Hill today. Relentlessly windy, with gusts in the 40 -50 mph range. The wind was freaking insane, and made a bunch of shots look ridiculous... but we left with all our plastic.

Tomorrow is Granite Ridge.

I hope Tom Triplett is on your list. If not, it should be. Right off 95, too, easy access.

The Tampa/Clearwater courses are indeed awesome. I have so much other stuff to hit in FL that it's not even funny. Just hard when I'm stuck way down in the panhandle.

Wind calmed down to a nice breeze today and we played Granite Ridge.

After playing everything at Highbridge, I can safely say it's a classic example of "The whole being greater than the sum of its parts."

Each course has a distinct personality and plays differently from the others. While none of them is quite as complete as some of my very favorite courses, they're all very good to excellent, with each one challenging (and appealing to) players in a different way.

Even the somewhat "typical" Woodland Greens is an excellent addition to the complex in that it's a tight technical, shot-shaping type of course that provides a very welcome change of pace from the longer courses, and really balances things out.

Special thanks to Ru4 and MtrCty5 for making it one of those things that's an experience best shared with others, and for hooking me up at an AirBnB with a gorgeous lake view, awash in fall colors.

So glad I finally made it up here!

It on my list, the already played list! But I might swing by again since it's really good.

We're going to Ohio next weekend to visit my brother in law and his family. We just finalized hotels and are now leaving a day earlier than originally planned. I was making sure my wife knew disc golf needed to be in the plan somewhere (I was thinking on the backend), when she suggested we drive over to Pennsylvania and play a round there on the front end. Of course I was all about that suggestion. Tentative plan is to hop over the border to play Two-Mile Run Extension in PA and then cut through the sliver of WV to play the Black course in Moundsville.

I thought I would be able to play a new to me course or two on this trip, but did not think a new state (much less two) was in the cards!
