It's nicer up the mountain...
We will be playing two rounds of 27 holes, one round per day, long layout on Saturday and the shorter layout on Sunday. There will be two pools of up to 100 players each. Pool A will play Saturday afternoon/Sunday morning and Pool B will play Saturday morning/Sunday afternoon. While subject to some change based on registration, probable Pool A will be Pros/MA1 and Pool B will be the other Am divisions. Awards and raffle will take place for each pool after completion of the second round.
All spots are first come, first serve.
All Amateur players will receive a generous players pack which will include two custom 2019 Showdown stamped premium discs (thank you INNOVA!) and much more. Pros are playing for money, of which there will be a good bit.
There must be three players in a given division for that division to play in the tournament. If there are less than three players in that division when the event is filled I will contact those registered and offer them a chance to play in another division or receive a refund. That said, I will be happy to add more junior divisions as requested. Contact me if you know a junior who would prefer to play solo in their own division.
Amateur payouts (scrip redeemable in the Sky High Pro Shop) and pro cash payouts will be determined after deducting costs which will include the player's pack (for Ams), course green fees, sanctioning and insurance, and fees of $2 to the PDGA and $2 to SoCal Disc Golf Association for all. $10 will be charged and paid to the PDGA for each non- or non-current member, $5 additional if not current SoCal DGC member.
A point of clarification for SoCal Disc Golf Club members: Successful completion of the two rounds will result in you being awarded 15 base participation points from this event for the 2019 series. At the 2015 Annual Meeting the membership voted to award 5 participation points per 18 holes completed; two rounds at Sky High = 54 holes = 15 base participation points. For more points beat people in your division!
Folks in the Inland Empire are really generous and there will be substantial added cash to Pro and Am payouts. Moreover, there are some who very much want to grow women's participation so all women's divisions payouts will be quite hefty. Specifically the Turn and Fade Disc Golf Foundation and Team DnD (Drunk and Disorderly) have committed a lot of money to reduce entry fees and to be added to the payouts across all of the women's divisions - come and get it ladies!
CFR discs? You bet. I'm sworn to secrecy for the time being but suffice to say you may be the first one in your neighborhood to have one of these beauties. Fundraiser discs with the custom tourney stamp are available for $25 each and all proceeds will go to the payout. INNOVA hooked us up as they always do. Sweet!
As of this time (June 16) there are a fair number of campsites available at the adjacent Table Mountain Campground. Here's the link if you want to camp there, first come, first serve: https://www.recreation.gov/ca...;parkId=73585
Thanks go out to INNOVA Champion Disc Golf, Ritual Brewing, Audet Construction, the Inland Flight Club, the Wrightwood Market, Turn and Fade, Team Drunk and Disorderly and some other committed Sky High friends for their generous support (more info soon!). You'll be hearing more about our sponsors through the wonders of the event page on Facebook soon enough. A special thanks go out to Shauna, Mike, Ben, John, Amando and all of the good folks at Sky High who make being at our favorite course so special.
