Is This Still A Course? 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 16, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

(0.106 Rating) A field with 3 baskets.
- PRACTICE - Someone in town could hypothetically show up here with discs and get decent field practice in rotating around the three baskets.
- CHAINS - The baskets are still in ok shape.
- PARTIAL MAINTENANCE - The grass field between two of the three baskets was mowed.

Cons:

Too many major issues.
- NO TEES - An important element in every course is an indication on where to throw from. In its rawest form, this is a numbered wood post or numbered rock. The Adventist course unfortunately has deteriorated to just rotting 4x4s on the ground in two locations, and they have no markings. By reading the past reviews, there use to be nine tees. Three tees to each basket.
- UNDEFINED CHALLENGE - With no layout to follow, rating the difficulty is pretty much impossible. Creating your own layout is the only option currently.
- OVERGROWTH - One of the three baskets is engulfed by 3 foot tall grasses.
- UNIQUENESS - The disc golf area is less than 4 acres so naturally the elements available to use was limited. The southern portion is a large open mowed field with a gentle slope down to the north. The northern portion has a moderate 20 foot drop off and has a couple of very large trees.
- NATURAL BEAUTY - The land is not an eyesore by any means, but since I grade this category on a curve it didn't fair well. Bottom 10% IMO.

Other Thoughts:

Is it still a course? I say no. Three baskets in a non-descript field, with no logical flow, is not a course. I re-listed the course as a practice area. In it's heyday, I think I would have given Adventist a 1.0 rating. Going forward, I do think it's possible to reincarnate the course. It seems like there might even be enough room here to add 3 more baskets and make a safe 6 hole loop with holes ranging from 150 to 250 feet. If something changes with this place, please pm me and I will re-evaluate the score. For the time being, I'm going with a Zero.

Pros:

Close to Auburn with good baskets. Elevation changes. Easy to find off of 280.

Cons:

A little short. Briars are abundant. Blind hills are hard to get used to if you've never played and you may end up in the road.

Other Thoughts:

The scorecards really help with finding your way around the course.

Decent Small Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 19, 2011 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

The course is built by a church off of columbus parkway. Well marked holes, scorecards, short holes allow for a 30 minute outing. 6 tees, 3 baskets. I usually play two rounds. Free.

Cons:

Lost 3 discs already to pretty thick bushes next to the road on hole 3. Thorns, snakes, and burrs are punishment for bad throws. Beware. Elevation change is nice, but can lead to blind throws. Closed on Saturdays.

Also, ant hills throughout the grass. Watch your step.

Other Thoughts:

Course was empty every time i've been. It could get crowded if a couple groups were playing, as baskets are re-used for different holes.
