Pros:
- Restroom on site.
- Nice park with picnic tables and pavilions.
- Very easy bag off of I-25
- Like new baskets
- Posts mark tee locations
- Small field in park for warm-up throws.
- Easy navigation...you can see every basket.
- You almost always have the place to yourself.

Cons:
- No shade at ALL in the summer
- Poor/No signage
- Restroom closed in winter
- Muddy creek on a few holes.
- Straight to the basket shots. No shaping required.

Other Thoughts:
Ames Park is a small park in an even smaller town. It's surprisingly well kept though, however the course is not.
Tall timbers are used to mark the Tee locations, but there is no designated Tee area. I throw from the right side of each Tee marker, but the ground can be very uneven.
This place is murder in the summer. No shade makes for a very hot/sweaty round. Play early in the morning or at sunset.
The park is well kept, but the town lets the course grow out during the summer. Play early in the spring since the grass can get thigh high in summer.
Use the bridges to cross the small creek. It looks dry, but the ground is always saturated here, and this is not mud that you want to bring inside your vehicle.
Hole 9 can have issues with the park if other people are using it, but that's rare.
This course is less than a mile west off the exit, making it a bagger's dream. Unfortunately that's the only person who should take the time to play here.

Quick bag off I-25 - has potential 2+ years

Pros:
+ DISCatcher baskets in good condition
+ Plays most of a loop
+ Restrooms nearby; ample parking; close to I-25 for a quick bag
+ Decent variety in hole lengths and use of some slight elevation changes
+ Despite some issues, there are some fun holes here (more on those below)

Cons:
- The tee pads are described as gravel but are really a circle of gravel w/ the tee post right in the middle. I played from the side. (Course description does tease concrete pads coming soon)
- Poor signage. Just a tee post w/ the tee number and an arrow pointing to the basket. The map available here is inaccurate in a couple ways too: it's not terribly to scale for some positions, and it shows Tee 8 on top of the hill, when it actually shares the tee for 2.
- Potential for some crossing fairways - it could get a little hairy if a few groups play at once.
- Grounds - There's some long grass in areas that'll get you searching for a disc. There's also a deceptively muddy draining running through the area around 2-4.
- No benches/trash along course (all amenities are located near the park entrance)
- Not a whole lot of challenge/technical holes going on - mostly open bombers, chucking around the field.

Other Thoughts:
Ames Park is a quick bag right off I-25 that won't take long to play provided you can navigate it accurately. As stated above the map is slightly inaccurate, plus w/ an open field it can get confusing which of the 3 baskets you currently can see is the one you're going for.
I played on a Wednesday afternoon on the way back from a couple courses in Cheyenne and my buddy and I had the place to ourselves. The first thing you see when you park is a big man-made mound that apparently used to have the tee for 8 at the top. I can't imagine why they moved it off - I took a walk up there and it would be a signature hole for the course.
That said, there are some fun holes here that at least break up the monotony. 4 plays to the east w/ the basket just out of view going down a hill; 5 has the basket placed behind a small group of trees and is a fun RHFH or a big bombing RHBH hyzer around the trees. Finally hole 9 plays around the hill into an area of this small park that's more well-maintained and even scenic compared to the rest of the course.
If I lived nearby I'd feel a little meh about the place as it is right now. Hopefully the redesign/concrete tees mentioned in the Course Description are soon to come. Also, as I've said earlier, I can't figure out why they took the top of the hill out of play, it's a great feature that should be used.
It's worth the bag if you're passingby but it's not a destination course as it stands right now. The course is still young though, it needs some breaking-in and has some potential.
