Nice little pitch and putt 9 hole course. 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 10, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

-Nice little park
-Nice baskets
-Pretty decent design given this small area.
-Plays very quickly
-Some elevation change
-A couple holes that allow for a distance driver.

Cons:

-Most holes very short, an experienced player can drive most of these holes with a putter.

Other Thoughts:

Overall a great little course if you happen to live in the area. Probably not worth a special trip to play, but if like me you find yourself in the area on your lunch break it can be worth it to stop in. I can usually play this course in about 20 minutes when playing alone. Good course to bring newer players to since its mostly open and pretty short. Hole 1 is a proper challenge, since it is very uphill with a low ceiling.

2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Aug 23, 2017 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-Nice Baskets
-Great for quick rounds
-Very easy to navigate
-Great course for begginers
-Fun Ace Run opportunities
-Little chance to lose discs
-Clean and well kept
-Great for playing a safari or 1 disc round

Cons:

-Hole 1 is a tough starting hole and needs some trimming
-Tee pads can be short if you have a long run up (but most holes are fairly short)
-Almost plays too quick
-An errant throw can land in a fence backyard on hole 5

Other Thoughts:

Bergen is a quick playing 9 hole course, that isn't overly difficult. A great place to take a new comer. Hole 1 can be a bit of tough hole, especially to start on. Uphill and dogleg right with low lying branches crowding the fairway. Hole 2 is the shortest hole, but requires a touch shot to land near the downhill pin. You can open up on the 400 foot hole 3 that plays in an open field on the side of a hill. Hole 4 is also on the longer side for this course and requires you to play between a ditch on the right and some brush on the left. On hole 5 you will need to throw a dogleg left slightly uphill and hope you don't saw it off early into a fenced in backyard. 6 plays down hill toward where the pin is place between some evergreens and the ditch. Hole 7 plays some what opposite of 6 and is uphill requiring you to throw a low skip or anhyzer to get close (rhbh). Hole 8 is my favorite hole, and is protected by trees and some rocks. Hole 9 brings you right back to the beginning of the course and is a straight ahead hole between two trees.
Overall this isn't the most spectactular course in the area, but is definitely worth playing if you happen to be nearby. You could use it as a warm up round for Churchville or Chili which are fairly close by.
There has been rumor of another 9 holes possibly being put in across the street, which would make this an odd, but fun 18.

Beginner Course with safari potential 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 4, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

Excellent baskets. Course was simple to figure out with no map.
Course was simple enough for a first timer to play, but challenging enough for an intermediate player to have to work to shoot a 3 on every hole.

This would be an awesome course for a safari round.

I could not believe hole one started out so difficult for a beginner course. It was a nicely done, up hill that required a fade to the right.

Cons:

Tee signs only have hole number. No real tee areas, just play from left or right of sign.

Hole 5 plays far to close to a fenced in backyard.

On many holes I would look at the hole and think, If I played to a different basket this hole would be awesome.

Other Thoughts:

The giant disc golf sign right on the main road is such a great visual and leads to exposure of our sport. The local school has some land that would make a great disc golf course and having a course so visible in town is a great way to get disc golf in the schools.

If you are not from Bergen, after your round drive down 19 just a short ways and stop at Ralph and Rosies. You can not experience Bergen without a slice of sweet pizza. You have to ask for the sweet pepperoni or sweet chicken.

Fun 9 hole course 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jul 19, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

- not a lot of bushes to lose discs in
- good place to get in a quick easy nine holes
- pretty decent for beginners to learn the game - Some 9
hole courses like Sawyer and Woodlands can be pretty
difficult with lots of trees
- Some holes are longer so you can air it out, not real
short like some 9 hole courses

Cons:

- tees are easy to find but which basket you are throwing too can be confusing being that many baskets are visible from each tee. There is an arrow fro the tee pointing in the general direction of the basket.

Other Thoughts:

Overall it is a nice 9 hole course. You get to air it out on some baskets and it isn't punishing for beginners. I played with someone else and we finished in 40 minutes and enjoyed doing it. There really isn't anything special about it but it is another place to throw discs at baskets.
