Pros:

Birch Ridge DGC is a very well designed and fun to play 18 hole course which plays on top of a 18 hole ball golf course.

I really enjoyed the layout of the course and appreciated the good mix of short and long par 3's and 4's. For $7 this is a "worth it" stop in Alaska. Certainly one of the better maintained courses in the state.

Pro shop has a small selection of prodigy discs. There are also snacks and drinks as well.

There are small condo/cabins to rent as well as on site camping spots. This area is also loaded with camping/lodge options for those looking for a place to stay overnight.

Overall, this is one of the better courses in this part of the state and is certainly worth trying out.

Cons:

Tees are natural and marked with small green markers that don't stand out very well. The orange laminated tee signs are easy to spot but leave a lot to be desired. Astroturf pads and upgraded tee signs would be a nice addition but the natural pads do "work" okay.

Other Thoughts:

Overall, Birch Ridge is a solid offering. Its unlike most of the private and park courses in this part of Alaska and offers great variety and quality. Is Birch Ridge going to be the next 4.5 star course in the state...no but I would certainly say that this course is a sold 3.5 stars and could become a 4 star with some minor improvements.
