Pros:
The terrain is better than average open 9er practice course due to longer distances and some elevation. The star of the course is the bigger downhill #8 where you can throw your disc between football goalposts. #4 is also a good one, a narrow fairway straight on with a tree line and detention pond right.
Despite mostly being on fields, it has decent upshots thanks to perimeter banks holding several baskets but otherwise the variety of shots are a bit lacking.
Overall, it's probably best left to the students of Boyertown but a tentative visit here won't hurt if you're going to the nearby Boyertown Park DGC anyways. A decent warm-up.
+Course goes in a loop
Cons:
This course is only semi-perimeter, #1-4. #5-9 very much play through the middle of the fields and I see no getting around it. And the biggest con are the busy athletic fields for other sports.
I came here five times -- switching it up with mornings, winter days and summer days -- and was only able to finally play a few days ago. Missing out wasn't a big deal, cause I was always actually headed to Boyertown's other excellent 18 nearby. It's not a course I want to depend on.
There are no signs or tees and without a course map though, what is what is a mystery otherwise. I was shooting at #8 basket as my second basket before opening up my Udisc app to check where #3 was.
Don't expect it to be playable, especially afternoons.
-No signs, no tees, assuming to tee near previous basket
Other Thoughts:
#1 - 235' Moderate uphill besides road
#2 - 310' Moderate downhill aiming towards banked basket
#3 - 346' straddling the bank to another banked basket, treeline immediate right
#4 - 281' with narrow center and treeline/detention pond right
#5 - 444' across soccer field (long) to bank raised basket
#6 - 297' diagonal across soccer field (width) to basket, semi-behind soccer goal
#7 -324' return diagonal to corner of soccer field with basket before drop
#8 - 408' big downhill to basket between fields, throwing it between football goalposts possible
#9 - 313' across field shot back to road
Out of OOOOO discs or XXXXX strikes.
Terrain: OOo - Decent. Some elevation, banks, and other features make this a bit more interesting than just flat fields.
Execution: O - Poor. It's just baskets on grass with no tees/signs. It's also set up in a way to be generally unplayable if teams are using the fields.
Upkeep: OOo - Typical as part of a larger sports system.
Difficulty: OO - The longer distances and two holes are a bit harder than beginner but that's it.
Fun Factor: OOo - I had a better time at this course than expected.
Crowded: XXXXX. Yeah, it's gonna be absolutely unplayable A LOT.
Overall: Oo - Could be a good learning DG but availability is absolutely shoddy.
