Pros:

The Cadott elementary school DGC is actually a really fun little 9 holer. Actually it's not really little at all. The distances on this course are pretty long for the most part. They range from hole 9 at 230 feet as the shortest all the way up to a 610 foot hole 8. Only 3 holes are under 300 feet.

The baskets are beautiful brand new DISCatcher Pro 28's. Awesome baskets. These things catch great. I was surprised these were the baskets they had. Yellow bands pop out really nicely and make spotting them easy.

The tees are natural, but all were fine for teeing off. Nice level ground and they're not rutted or anything. Perfectly adequate for a presumably little used course like this.

The tee signs are very nice too. They're on a big 4x4 T shaped post with the par, distance, hole # and a basic wood carved hole map. Nicely done.

The course was in immaculate shape when we were here in mid July. The grass was mowed and even the wooded holes were trimmed and clean.

The flow of the course is pretty straightforward. One long walk back toward the school and across the road (north) to get from hole 5 to 6. Hole 9 ends pretty close to the parking lot. Not right next to it, but in sight at least.

Hole breakdown:

Hole 1 is a long bomb across an open field to the basket tucked just into the woods 445 feet west. Par 4 and a good opening hole to loosen the arm up.

Hole 2 is a shorter tunnel shot initially with a very sharp dogleg left at the end. Really tough 2 to get. You need to earn this one, even at only 238 feet. Par 3.

Hole 3 is a huge tree lined hallway to the basket tucked to the left about 425 feet down the fairway. reminiscent of Blue Ribbon hole 4 actually, just wider and tucked left at the end. Great hole. A small creek runs along the right side behind the tree wall for most of the hole. Par 4

Hole 4 is another tight tree lined corrider shot similar to the previous hole, just shorter at only 348 feet. Par 4 and another fun one.

Hole 5 gets you back out in the open with a 507 foot par 4. OB road lines the whole right side and prairie grass rough runs up the whole left side. Par 4.

Hole 6 is across the road and only 243 feet. Par 3 and slightly left of the tee behind a big tree with prairie grass all over. Almost plays as an island green.

Hole 7 is a wide open 389 foot par 3. Big fairway about 70 to 80 feet wide lined by prairie grass. The wind is your biggest challenge on this one.

Hole 8 is the big boy. 610 foot par 4 that drifts left the whole way Prairie grass lines the right of the fairway for the first half of the hole before opening up. Thick prairie grass and a patch of trees slightly left about 150 feet off the tee, The fence for the baseball field forms the left fairway border after that. The basket is tucked behind some trees too, forcing a solid upshot. Awesome hole.

Hole 9 is the shortest on the course at 230 feet. Par 3 but there's quite a few trees you need to weave through to get a look. Low ceiling so it's not as straight forward as you'd think.

Cons:

For being at an elementary school this is a really long course. Not really a good beginner course. But for experienced players this is a good one. The High school is right there too, so I'm sure that's who this is more geared towards anyway.

The walk from 5 to 6 isn't intuitive, It's not bad but without a map you might be walking around awhile.

As is custom at most WI courses, the bugs can be horrendous in the summer months. Not a knock on the course but worth mentioning.

I'm not really the biggest fan of prairie grass on a course. It makes looking for a disc a pain in the butt. This wasn't the worst prairie I've seen but it's not the best either. Potential for a lost disc if you have a bad shot. Kind of annoying.

Other Thoughts:

I was more than pleasantly surprised with this one. This is probably a top 5 school course out of the many I've played. I will be playing this one again for sure. It's not a must play, but if you're up in this area I'd recommend giving this one a shot. Very well designed course and a great addition to the area. I'm glad to have this one close by.
