Pros:
Calvary Church DGC in Albuquerque, NM was a pleasant surprise. Any time I see a 9 hole course with 6 baskets my expectations are pretty low. This place, however, is NICE! First of all, it is very well maintained. The tee signs are simple, but tell you what you need to know. The Mach II baskets are permanently installed and in good shape. Holes 3 and 9 are listed at par 4, but most places would not give you 4 shots for under 400 feet. But both of these holes give those of you with a good arm a chance to air one out and maybe get an eagle. On 3 there is a patio structure in the way that you need to throw around and a large tree in the way that makes for a low ceiling and a tougher shot, but still doable.
Cons:
There are no tee pads, but hey it's not a championship course. The fairways are constantly crossing, which is a big no-no in course design, but hey it was designed in a narrow strip and I commend the guy who came up with this fun spot.
Other Thoughts:
The grassy area is ringed by a concrete curb with shrubbery on the other side. Intuitively going over the curb would be OB but not here because one of the baskets is on the other side of the curb.
When I was there I met a local who plays here a lot on his way to and from work. When I told him I liked this course he agreed. I think if you are passing through Albuquerque and stop here that you also will like it.
