Cameron Park's First 18 Hole Course! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 31, 2020 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

Cameron Park's first 18 Hole course is a nice addition to area and will certainly help alleviate the giant crowds at the surrounding courses. The course is located behind Cameron Park in the wildlife area between the lake and Cameron AirPark Estates. Let's get into the list of Pro's!

*18 Prodigy T1 Baskets
*Wide & Level Turf Teepads
*Tee Signs w/ Distance & Placements
*Bag Holders & Benches on each hole
*Multiple Pins Placements
*Amateur Tee's on some longer holes
*Safety nets for overlapping Holes/Fairways (See Cons)
*Course is separated from the general population of the Park Goers, have to walk through a gate to access Hole 1.

Cons:

The biggest issue with the course was the amount of land they had to use and how the designers chose to use it. Holes 2, 15-18 all use about 50% of the entire course for 5 holes?
Granted, all the work that has been done is very admirable and amazing! So much appreciated for getting the course installed.
However, to be fair to the course review... Onto the Cons:

-Teepads & Baskets very close to each other. (3 Teepads within 20 feet of each other) I'm not sure how this plays during a tournament/weekly/busy day.
-Poison Oak, you can tell they are attempting to eradicate it, but it's fighting back with a vengeance and popping up in multiple spots.
-No Pin Placement indicators on Tee Signs (I looked and looked... fill me in if I'm blind)

Other Thoughts:

The walk to the course is right up there with Stafford Lake or Napa. But at least at Stafford there are a couple practice Holes to throw along the way. The park itself tends to be pretty packed and can only imagine how many people patronize the park in the summertime. However the Disc Golf course only had one other group playing.
Overall, is this a championship caliber course? Not by any means!
Is it a fun course to play to break up the monotony of Shady Oaks being the only 18 Hole Course is Sacramento? YES!
