Pros:
Stunning views of the Sangre de Cristo mountains! Great DiscCatcher baskets. Very long, with a bit of elevation. Unique setting on a ball golf course. Did I mention the view?
Cons:
Wind-prone, little challenge despite it's namesake. Lack of signage and designated tee pads. We just played it using the ball golf tees, and it made things extremely long.
Other Thoughts:
This really isn't a bad little course. The well-mowed fairways are perfectly suitable to creating your own tee-pads if the layout proves too long.
Its really about the location. Crestone is a stunningly beautiful area. Ample hot-springs in the area, and close to the Great Sand Dunes. The North Crestone Campground is a fantastic place to spend the night, just above the town, along a large fishable creek. $7 dollars a night with potable water and fire rings. Be prepared to hang your food high in a tree before you sleep. There is a resident bear who will break into your vehicle if it contains any food.
