Pros:
+Nice large concrete tees on every hole
+2 baskets (blue and yellow) on every hole. Not really a hard/easy layout but more of a way to get 18 holes in on a park that can't fit 18 unique tee to basket holes. Baskets are all Innova and in great shape.
+Park overall is an ideal city park setting. Sioux Center has clearly invested money and time into making this place very inviting and fun. It has bathrooms, shelter, playground, trails, parking. Was clean, trash free, great environment.
+Some gentle elevation changes to make things fun.
+I'm %99 sure that there will be nice color signs very soon. For now they just had white laminated paper signs but I don't think they would do everything they have done and not use the signs that are in the photos on this site for the course. The course is fully playable but I think they will finalize all the details soon.
+Decent distance variation. Some holes that you might ace and deuce often but nothing crazy short or crazy long.
+Decent amount of trees for a city park. Not too open. Overall, the designer used the land very well.
+Good course for beginners to moderate players. Not super challenging but still a good, fun environment for most disc golfers.
+Hole 6 has a raised pin position that is fun to play.
+I was here on a Friday evening and there were a fair amount of players. Good to see in a smaller town.
+Shouldn't lose a disc here. 5 had some longer grass near the dry stream bed but that's about it.
+Once you find hole 1 tee next to the parking lot, it is easy to find your way around. The flow is great and logical.
Cons:
-Can sometimes see more than 1 hole's baskets from the tee. Had to open up the map on here to make sure that I threw at the right hole on 6/7. Mostly an issue that will be resolved once signs get up. I also am assuming that there will be a map/sign at the start of the course.
-I have to say that it would have been nice to make one of the pin positions long and one short. As they are, the yellow and blues probably score pretty similarly. It's nice to have 18 holes for relative beginners but it would be nicer to have 9 beginner/intermediate holes and 9 longer ones. I think there is space for it. Just my take on a very nicely done course.
-I could see this course being pretty busy and getting backed up. It could be a quick play if it's not busy but since it is nice, new, and the only one in town, it will likely be busy at times.
Other Thoughts:
+Overall I had a good time here and would definitely play again if I was in the area.
+Best holes:
5- Has some fun lines and a stream bed to avoid.
6- The fun elevated pin
8+9- Both a bit longer than average with a bit tighter of lines. Good ways to finish the course.
