Pros:

All different types of shots. Wasn't to hard to find our way. Good tee pads.

Cons:

People need to pick up there trash instead of throwing it on the ground. Broken bottles on many holes. Signs have all been stolen or vandalized

Other Thoughts:

Get there early, you will see lots of people.

Chemical Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 1, 2009 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Good layout, nice players. There is a bum that hangs out all day, he's nice and it's good to have him. For the most part he takes care of all the bottles and cans.

Cons:

They need to cut the grass more often. Broken glass everywhere makes it difficult to play barefoot (my chosen method). Trashcans at every hole would eliminate most of the trash.

Other Thoughts:

There is a gentleman that sells used and new discs every Thursday, and they are by far the best price that i have run across. If your a new player I would recommend buying used discs. ( I know from experience, I could have saved time by just throwing $70 into the woods)

I liked it better than... 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 17, 2009 Played the course:once

Pros:

Nice variety of shots/distances. Nice flow from basket to tee. Still, print a map. Very fun course due to its mix of short/long holes. Reminds me of Cass Benton, kinda...Pretty good condition for a well used place. Good mix of locals. Close to the ballpark, gas stations, food distribution centers, etc. Get there early. Play more than one round. You'll like it. Good scenery.

Cons:

A little crowded, but not like I haven't seen that before. A little wet but not overwhelming. Beware the wind on the back-9. More signs would be a +.

Other Thoughts:

I would play here all the time if it were closer to the 'D'.

Compact but fun! 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Apr 19, 2009 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

A compact course that makes great use of minimal acreage and terrain features. Trees are in play on most holes yet the fairways never feel closed in. Crazy fun doglegs on #10 and #16 and funky leaning trees on #11 and #18, plus the step-up at #3 kept things seriously fun and interesting. Benches are available at almost every tee and the cement tee pads are generously sized and well maintained.

Cons:

Nature paths parallel or cross the course at several places and other park users seem to wander through or congregate randomly on the course making avoidance a challenge at times. Even multiple warnings of "Fore" didn't warrant a look up or a meander off the course. Trash is a definite and obvious problem as is high traffic and vandalism. Missing or vandalized tee signs on almost every hole makes negotiation a challenge and many of the baskets were dented or damaged.

Hole #17 is subject to thick, sticky black mud in the fairway during wet periods.

Other Thoughts:

Good, permanent tee signs and regular trash pick-up or trash cans at every tee would make this course the bomb for a quickie. Wayward traffic control using some type of "Warning, Flying Discs" signage would be helpful, too.

Just getting to the course from the west side of the state proved challenging, and even trying to follow the posted directions from the east lead to confusion.....advance mapquesting is suggested, as is printing the map and scorecard from here before going.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Jun 5, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Hole Variety/Course layout--
Pretty good variety of holes, alot of holes have pretty dense rough along the edges. No elevation change.

Course Atmosphere--
Nice city park with a big river running along the side. Park is just outside of town.

Cons:

Course Navigation--
Not the best, a map should be used for first timers. It is will get confusing on some holes with no signs.

--Ive seen task ridin' around on mountain bikes (maybe not a negative for some people though).

Other Thoughts:

Course Maintenance--
Standard, its in a city park so while its upkept it can still get dirty from time to time. There are 18 concrete tee pads on every hole.

Hazards--
Dense brush on sides of alot of holes (bad in summer).

Traffic--
Good amount of people usually, you can get held up a holes.

--Overall fun & challenging course.

--If you play here make sure you play "Tittibawassee Park" in Freeland.

Its MY Home Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 26, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Its a course that will build your game, you will develope accurate and varied shots. Its well laid out with minimal walking between tees which is a mark of a good course design.

Cons:

The Course has been beaten down and isnt nearly as tough as it was when designed. Lots of casual use. The city upkeep of the course at times is poor although the local club does what it can

Chippewa Banks 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 29, 2008 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

This is a great course with a lot of variety. All the holes are a good distances, in which you need to use your driver, and the one that are a little shorter they have a dog leg in them through the woods. I have played this course many times and it is never boring and always a challenge. I have gotten 3 on every hole at least once so it is possible to par this course.

Cons:

If you have never been to this course it could be hard to navigate. I will post a map and score card as links on this course's web page to help people out. Some of the sign at the tee boxes are missing and there is sometime trash around. Every time I have been to this course there are other people there, so it can get a busy at times, but everyone I have met has been friendly and helpful.

Other Thoughts:

This course really changes with the seasons; it is a lot easier in the spring and fall when there are no leaves on the trees or bushes. Holes 1-6 are fairly open not much to hit but a few big trees in the way. Holes 7-10 are tight shots through the woods. Holes 11-14 are open shots again, not much to hit but large trees and some large bushes. The large bushes are deceiving they will eat your disc. Hole 15, I know a lot of people have Aced, it is 215 FT strait tight shot with a little right fade at the end. Hole 16 is a sharp left dog leg; I recommend just tomahawking the disc over the trees to the basket. Hole 17 is a tight strait shot, but a disc eater, and 18 is long hole with a rather large tree commanding the middle of the fairway. This is a great course, if you're ever in the Midland area I would definitely play this, it is one of my favorites.

short but semi-sweet 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 11, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

The course quite challenging and will make you think twice about every shot. Cement tee pads feel nice.

Cons:

No water, moving from hole to hole can be confusing, and the area feel a little cramped.

Other Thoughts:

It is a fun course to play if you can find your way out to it (print directions if you have never been).

Madness 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:May 5, 2008 Played the course:never

Pros:

Many difficult shots, and in close proximity to other courses. There is lots of variance in design, # 16 is a crazy hard right dog leg shot that requires either a huge hyzer or a very tall thumber to get over the trees.

Cons:

Gets busy after 4ish and needs trash cans. No water hazards.

Other Thoughts:

There are lots of trees and a few of them are really cool looking leaners that make certain holes significantly more difficult. Not a good course if you don't like them short and technical.
