(1.054 Rating) A wide open forgiving school course.
- BEGINNER FRIENDLY - This course is perfect for middle school players. Mostly wide-open fairways, but also a few obstacles that will intrigue junior players to conquer more challenging holes. In addition, the hole distances are very much on the short side averaging less than 200 feet. Also, no water in play, the overgrowth is minimal, and it's not an all-day excursion.
- ACEABILITY - To veteran players these holes are all putter runs. Lots of great opportunities for an improving young player to get their first ace.
- NAVIGATION - Other than the transition between (2) and (3) the course is easy to navigate, even without a map. However, I did have to reference my downloaded map once on the before mentioned transition as the tee sign for (3) is not viewable after finishing (2). It's about a 300 foot walk due south. The map on DGCR was accurate as of April 2018.
- FORGIVENESS - The odds of losing a disc due to an errant shot is near impossible. A player would have to forget to pick up to lose one here.
- GROW THE SPORT - No doubt will this course aid in growing the sport by offering students easy access to learn the game at a beginner friendly course on school grounds.
- CHAINS - The remaining eight baskets are in great shape, DISCatchers. Unfortunately, a typical comment when you run out of good things to say about a course.

Most middle school courses are limited in their reach and this course is no exception.
- UNIQUENESS - They really don't get much more vanilla than this one. Holes (1) thru (4), (6) and (9) are all obstacle free putter runs to recreational level players and above. Hole (7) is a short blind right hooking hole and hole (8) has trees running down the entire right side. As of this review, I've scored the Clint Small course with least amount of hole variety out of the 22 courses I've played in the Austin Metro Area.
- HOLE 5 - As stated in all the previous reviews, hole (5's) basket is missing. That's 18 months now at minimum. I wouldn't expect it to ever return.
- SAFETY HAZARDS - A bunch of other school amenities in play. Hole (1) right out the gate plays over an overgrown volleyball court. Hole (2) plays down a walking path and my group had to wait for walkers on this hole. Holes (4), and (6) thru (9) all have a running track in fringe play. If the track were in use, this layout would not be playable.
- TEES - Slightly overgrown gravel pads defined by 4 by 4s. There aren't the worst examples out there, but for Austin this is sub-par.
- CHARACTER - Extra items are just about non-existent. It's just baskets and simple tee signs. Don't expect any other amenities.
- ELEVATION - I think hole (9) might have a 5-foot-high berm running along the entire right side and this is the most notable elevation here. The rest of the site is mostly flat, so even a future layout change couldn't incorporate any nice elevation changes.
- TOO EASY - Advanced players should have no problem shooting 7 or 8 down (8 holes) on a routine basis. Even 850 rec players should be able to shoot a few under here. The only challenge here will be the wind, which was more than 30 mph on my visit.
- ACCESS - Although not fenced off like some other area school courses, playing here during school hours would not be wise.

Clint Small is a Beginners and newer Novice level player's course. It will be a yawn fest for those that have played just a handful of courses. It's an easy one to check of the list if you feel the need to play every course once. Perfect for baggers like me, as long as school is not in session.

Once you can see past the point that this course wasn't designed with the average disc golfer in mind, then you should be able to wrap your mind around the fact that this is an OK course for middle school students. It starts at the back of the school and then plays counter clockwise around the football field. The course has a crushed rock tee pad on # 1. Subsequent holes had worn spots near the tee signs. The little tee signs are fine giving the hole #, par and distance. Pars are appropriate for middle schoolers such as # 4 playing as a 213' par 4 and # 3, a 219' par 4. Please allow these kids the thrill of getting a birdie or two. You can play each any way and with any par you choose. Myself, I picked up a few eagles but no aces. The baskets are slightly faded Discatchers with a nice round piece of carpet (turf) set in paving stones under each basket. Looks nice and prevents unsightly erosion and puddling under the baskets.

Every hole is an Ace Run for anyone who has played previously. # 1 is 135' and wide open, Enjoy your Ace Run!

The # 5 basket which previously sat out by the wooded area is gone.

Middle school challenge, distances and pars. But it's a middle school course.

This course was pretty well designed with the strengths and weaknesses of this age group taken into consideration. It's short enough to give them the success they crave but long enough that's it not a joke to them. I'm impressed that the course shows no sign of any vandalism when you factor in that these kids are just reaching their prime vandalism years.

As far as any real disc golfers playing here, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're a course bagger. Then go for it.

-great tee signs at each hole
-natural tees with wooden frames are level and in good condition
-mostly very short holes, appropriate for middle school
-wind practice, upshot practice

-totally wide open; a tree line is in play off the tee on hole 7 and off to the side on hole 8
-used to be a 9 hole course but hole 5 is missing, walk past tee 5 and on to tee 6 (no, the basket isn't off in that line of trees over there, i checked)
-limited availability for non-students but this course won't be attracting much of anyone anyway

Not a bad course but it doesn't offer much fun or challenge other than practicing in the wind or practicing upshots with your putter. The shots are all 250' or less and totally wide open so you really can just come out with one disc.

Cool exposure to disc golf for the students here but for anyone else it's not worth the trip with all the other nice courses in the area. Unless you live really close and are looking for a practice space... course baggers only!

Difficulty (0.5/5): A couple of holes run beside a forest, but even that doesn't really present a threat unless you have a terrible release. There isn't a single tree in any of the fairways, and most holes are easily aceable. Despite that short distance, a good portion of the holes are marked as Par 4. I scored a -6 on this 8 hole course after having only played for 3 months.

Maintenance (3/5): The strongest suit of this course. The tee signs are in great shape, as are the baskets. There aren't any teeboxes, but there is worn patches in the grass next to the tee signs. The grass is kept short.

Variability (0.5/5): There is one hole that would require an anhyzer (RHBH) to get close off the tee. The rest are essentially in an open field.

Flow/Experience (1/5): Hole 8 finished about 300 yards away from the parking lot next to Hole 1, and it's tough to find the teebox for Hole 3. Overall, I left this course very disappointed. It was basically like playing on a football field.
