Clinton Disc Golf Course Is Not As Advertised! 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 18, 2022 Played the course:once

Pros:

Gees, can someone connected with this course please update all the information such as the fact that it is now a full 18 hole course. As I was traveling through Clinton, I figured on playing this simple little 9 hole park course in 30-35 minutes. Also, someone on the course information sheet mentioned that the old # 7 is the new # 1. So I started there even though it didn't seem to make a lot of sense.

There are two large course signs on different streets leading into the park. One says Clinton Disc Golf Course. The other says Clinton 18 hole Disc Golf Course. The tees on the front nine are concrete but they are all too short. The front nine baskets are older yellow Discatchers while the back sport new red Discatchers. The tee signs give you all kinds of topographic elevation but the par is an add on. Many of the par numbers are missing.

The course longer than most 9 hole courses. On the front nine alone are three holes in the mid-400's and # 6 at 656' Par 5.

The back nine plays all over this good sized park, past the Armory, way out beyond the pool and probably up to suburban Kansas City, as well.

My vote for signature hole is # 4. It plays 453' over the small ditch to a basket set in the trees. It's just a very pretty hole.

Cons:

The front 9 tee pads are probably 2 to 4 feet too short.

I think the signs are too busy with all the elevation info on them. I don't need to know that there's a 6' elevation gain to that tree 200' in front of me. I think having the par on the sign is more important.

The par is shown on a separate piece of signage below the regular signs. Several of these are missing.

There's an old basket very close to the # 3 basket. I have to assume this was/is the practice basket but it's in a strange location.

Other Thoughts:

This is a nice park with some elevation to work with. It's length alone makes it an intermediate course. There's plenty of challenge here for most players.

It's a 3.5 rated course but as a traveling player passing through, I must protest, as is my right as an American Disc Golfer, and hand the course a 3.0 rating. God, I hope this course isn't being ran by a bunch of UDisc dip shits who don't want to do anything to further good ole DGCR. It that's the case, I might consider lowering my rating even lower.

Once again, please update all the needed information. Find someone who can actually draw a course map. Remember that not all those who play here are locals. Help us out!
