The first handful of holes are in the flatter campus area where you will find a few trees and some OB. The next half plays down into a valley where there are some fun elevation shots and tricky greens. Finding this course while in Rangely was a surprise and a welcomed one at that. There is one long open hole on the top side where you could practice drives if you needed to as well as a couple grassy greens to putt on. Hole 9 is not the longest hole, but it is extremely uphill making a park job difficult. There actually were not too many places to lose a disc here, just some bushes and little grass. Great view of the valley from the ninth basket as well, take a moment to soak it in!

It wasn't the best marked course at the time but I found my way around, plus it's only nine holes so after one lap you know where to go. Most tees are dirt.

Bring proper footwear for the canyon hole section, the soil is loose and rocky plus there are lots of cactus. Super cool for a little town so far out of the way like this to have it's own course. Again, great view of Rangely from the ninth basket, check it out on your way through!

Easy to find, right in the middle of the campus. Some elevation change for a couple of fun shots.

It is really hard to figure out this course without knowing anything about it. There is no map, no signs, and no one really knows about the course around the campus. The first 4 shots have no tee boxes and no signs. The other 5 do have numbers at the tee but are some what hard to find.

Most of the shots on the course are flat, wide open, straight shots around 300 feet.

Currently this is only a 9 hole course. It plays like 2 different courses (front 5 and back 4)
The first 5 holes play through a green mowed college campus. The grass seemed to cool down the summer heat a tad. Tees were kind of marked in some places and the baskets were in decent condition. The big trees and lawns of the front 5 were pretty. The front course was interesting but basically just your run of the mill flat point and shoot feel.
The back 4 was a TOTALLY different feel. Hilly, scrubbrush fairways, precarious basket locations. I loved the back 5. The short Hole 6 was perched with a drop off behind it. Hole 7 played to the side of a steep hill, 8 was an air it out bomb (2 shots for most players) and hole 9 is about 80' above the tee box 210' long playing like 350'. Shots too far right hit the wind and blew all the way back to the tee box. It was a pretty interesting hole. Tees on the last 4-5 holes were marked with stones and routed blocks of wood. I imagine that some times when the school is open you can use the facilities. A number of goat trails were dug to help navigate the hilly second half of the course.

This course had a number of issues. Tees were barely marked and I guessed on most of the first few holes. Even though the tee boxes were marked on the last 4 holes. They were very short , natural, and not level. They DONT look like the pictures. The number blocks are faded and cracked and the stones have been kicked aside in some parts. No signage was available. The first 5 holes were pretty boring and they didn't add anything to the course.

I rated this course a little higher than I would have in a traditional disc golf area. There literally is no other option and in my book, any course is better than nothing. I fell in love with the last 4 holes. I wonder if there is ability to reduce some of the opening holes and expand back behind the college, or if there is interest, add holes to the course. I think the potential is there for a 3.5 or 4* course with just a few more baskets, some minimal signage and next tee signs, and concrete or level framed out with 4x4's natural 4x10 tee pads. Also, there is some space to take the current design and add 2 tees per hole and make an interesting 18 hole layout. I was really excited to find this course and I would play it again in the future.
