Pros:

- Makes great use of the natural terrain, with spaced tree shots, sloping fairways, and subtle elevation changes.
- Immaculate grounds-keeping: perfectly mowed grass gives it a real golf course feel.
- The standard layout with Red and White tees provides fun and challenges for players of all levels. The designer also made allowances for longer (Blue/Gold) tees to be put into play.
- Optional well-defined (path & over) OB is available depending on level/division of play. Natural vegetation barriers are punishingly thick in some areas, and less so (though still challenging) in others.
- Has some great 'tournament' holes that provide opportunity for score separation.
- The design forces players to make a variety of throws if they want to score well.

Cons:

- Teeing areas would benefit greatly from levelling and installation of pads. This change alone would make it a destination course worthy of hosting a B-Tier, or as part of an A-Tier if used in conjunction with the other 'local' (1 1/2 hour drive) course.
- A few of the White teeing areas are constricted in size and/or have obstructions at the front corner of the tee. White tee for #2 is a injury hazard for LHBH throws. Would also benefit from trimming/clearing of teeing areas.

Other Thoughts:

A true Northern Gem! Although it is quite distant from major population centres, it is well worth the journey to play this course. Unfortunately the nearest course to Creekside is in Opaskwayak (1 1/2 hr drive), as this course and the community of Flin Flon would be a great place to host a large tournament.
As a newer course, it's full potential has not yet been realized, but it is well on the way and is still quite the treat to play.
Don't pass on any opportunity to play this course. I can't wait to get out there again.
