Decent Neighborhood Nine 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Mar 15, 2018 Played the course:2-4 times

Pros:

This nine hole course was squeezed into unused areas of the small neighborhood park, and offers some challenging holes. This is a relatively short course with 4 holes in the 200' range and 2 more around 260'. Longest holes are 395' and 412'.

Terrain is short mowed grass or dirt with widely spaced Mesquite trees.

Good concrete tee pads, basic signs, and Discatcher baskets are all there and in good shape. Adequate parking with a bench here and there as well.

Most holes require shaping of your drive, with a couple really favoring a late fade to the right. So LHBH or RHFH are helpful here.

I found Hole 7 to be the most challenging hole on the course as it offers two different gaps to drive through, but both are low-headroom due to overhanging trees.

Hole 8 places the basket up on a small mound to add the only elevation to the course.

Cons:

The course is dead flat, the holes are fairly short, and there is really nothing here to get excited about. It is a basic neighborhood 9-hole course that is fine for local play, but not worth going out of your way to experience. Most holes have a tree or two to beat, but nothing else.

The first time I played was on a weekend morning. With the walking path and playground in use I really had to be aware of other park users and potential conflict. It impacted my shot selection on a couple of holes. My second round was a weekday morning with an empty park, and I was much more comfortable "going for it".

Several holes play along the fenceline of neighboring homes, and losing a disc over a fence is a real possibility.

While many holes on the course are short, the Par 2 labels on many of the tee signs are strange. Is a 298' hole with an OB fence on the left and a tree to work around on the right really a Par 2? No.

Other Thoughts:

If this was my local course I'd happily play it with putters and midranges and go elsewhere (Green Jay) to work on drives.

Nice course for putters/mids 2+ years

Reviewed: Updated: Played on:Nov 29, 2016 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

Nice little course in a small park, nothing particularly exciting or dull about it. Can be played in under an hour. The locals have made a back nine using little spots around the park to tee from. I feel the back nine actually flows better than the actual course, though since it's not actually part of the course I'm not considering these in my review as somebody without a guide will have no way of knowing where the tees are. Overall, this is a nice course that's perfect for putter only rounds.

Cons:

I suppose the cons are that there isn't anything exciting about this course. Another bit of annoyance is during the day the park gets crowded from schools or groups and they pretty much take up the fairways on some of the holes. It's a public park first so I guess it's theirs to use as they wish. I also think par 2's are rather trivial which this course has a few of. I've gone through rounds of taking all nine in two strokes. Otherwise, there's no reason to have anything a par 2. At that point it seems so pedantic.

One point of confusion is there are a lot of seemingly arbitrary mandos thrown around on the trees. Not sure if these are actual mandos or something thrown up for some reason. I couldn't see how they served any necessary purpose. My biggest guess was to force a lot more forehands or force "cool hyzer routes." Realistically, I couldn't understand the thought behind them.

Other Thoughts:

In conclusion, easy course for putters or beginners working on their game. Made a safari hole from the first tee to the back of the park over a playground (no children were present) that added an element.

Great course for all levels 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 17, 2015 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-Good for different levels of play. A beginner shouldn't have too much trouble playing here and have a good time there. For the more experienced player it may be a bit easy, but some of the holes require a very good technical shot.

-Wide open. Not much of a chance at losing a disc. Hole 3 is pretty much the only one that may cause serious problems.

-This is my home course. The locals are friendly and willing to play with you and have a good time. They have mini's every Saturday and Wednesday so that is fun as well.

-The city just remodeled the park and it looks very nice.

Cons:

-Sometimes the grass will get really long and swampy after storms. The parks and rec usually keep it up but we had a stretch of very rainy days and the course got really long and almost unplayable.

-Not enough trash cans. Beer cans and other litter is always usually found by Hole 3
