Nice 18 Hole Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 8, 2018 Played the course:once

Pros:

Interesting layout of the course. Some long holes, some short holes, but the course layout makes very good use of the available land.

Baskets are in good shape. Astroturf tees are in good shape, as well.

Flow is very good and finding the next tee is not a problem. We did have a few false starts, but we never had to search -- only reroute.

Cons:

The only con, for me, was the deep, thick rough. (And that's pretty standard on most courses I have played.) I think playing this course in the winter would be a joy.

Other Thoughts:

All in all, a very strong course, and if I lived in the area (which I do not) it would be a regular.

fun starting course for Nashville 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 26, 2018 Played the course:5+ times

Pros:

-nice artificial turf tee pads
-long and short tees available. I generally play the longs while my wife plays the shorts. I really enjoyed playing an all-putter round from the shorts.
-Good flow throughout
-free to play
-hole 1 from the long tee is my favorite
-good variety of throws needed to make your birdies

Cons:

-Very thick underbrush during the summer. Make every effort to stay on the fairway as there is virtually no possibility of recovery shots.
-almost all par 3's

Other Thoughts:

-Playground on site for the wife and kids
-This course pairs well with BC3 if you are planning a Brown County Road trip. Each course has a very different personality.

DG & Shopping for ? 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Oct 17, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

I'm used to gravel tees, so artificial turf was a great improvement. Nice size T box, well marked, I never was lost, finished in 2 hours, did a combo of pro and am tees. Multiple Ace opportunities, from the Ams, made for fun and different course than norm. Beautiful turning leaves and views of the Creek make for a fun day for any DG fan,

Cons:

Not good at this, as I like to play on different courses. It's a lot of walking, done others with more, but that's why I do DG, and it's still free

Other Thoughts:

The ability to drop off someone who enjoys shopping in the Nashville town while you play DG is huge, I can't think of another course around to have both in INdiana.

2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Sep 24, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Fun course, with fair variety. One of the best courses in this region. Well maintained and well marked, although there is sometimes a fair walk to the next hole.

Some rough to deal with and water is in play on a couple holes.

Cons:

No signature holes or amazing shots. Mosquitoes can be a problem.

good layout 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Jul 16, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

We found it very easy to follow the course whithout a map.
The signs are some of the best i've seen anywhere making it clear where the alternate tees, baskets and next tees are located. We appreciated the shorter tee options.

Cons:

surprised how much traffic (specially motorcycles) there was. Though this is a problem that's plagued nashville and brown county for years.

Other Thoughts:

take care near the community garden. We saw one player throw into here and it's kept locked.

well worth the trip 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:Jun 19, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Set in a beautiful scenic park so close to downtown Nashville that you could throw a rock to it. Very well laid out and fun to play. Accomadates both expeirenced and beginner players with two tee pads per hole. Will be glad to see this course progress and become a little more beat in as the rough is some of the worst I have seen and filled with briars and thrown bushes. Otherwise it was well worth the hour and a half drive to play.

Cons:

Very bad and unforgiving rough. Zero shade on open holes. Would definatley benefit the course to plant some nice trees on the wide open holes.

Great Course. Needs Cleaned up a little 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:May 13, 2016 Played the course:once

Pros:

Course is set in throughout a park near downtown. It is very spread out and has a peaceful vibe. It is aimed for intermediate level players but is beginner friendly.

Baskets - 18 Discatchers that are brand new and caught great. I did not see a practice basket.

Tees - 2 Tees per hole. Tees are astro turf and were easy to find. The tee locations were significantly different than each other and drastically changed the hole.

Signs - Signs were very nice. Had a map of hole, distance, par, location of each tee (for the hole), and location for the next tee. Each tee had a sign.

Variety - Holes were relatively flat but there were minimal elevation changes on more holes. Course contained wide open shots, short and technical, slightly wooded holes, heavily wooded holes, and tunnel shots. Every hole was unique in its own way. Front 9 and back 9 were very different from each other. Several blind shots due to trees. Water hazards along the first 5 holes and then 3 holes near end of the course.

There were benches throughout the course, typically along the gravel paths. Trash cans were also on site but near the baseball fields.

Bathrooms on site near the baseball fields.

Next hole signs when needed pointing to both the red and blue tees.

The drive from the highway is very scenic! The park itself was scenic as well.

The hanging basket was a nice touch.

Cons:

When I played, the grass was about 8 inches high. Made locating discs difficult. It I would have given the course a higher rating if it was cut but it is a large property so I can understand.

Course had a lot of standing water so be prepared to get wet if you play a day or 2 after it rains.

Astroturf tees were soggy and not always level.

I found a tick on me halfway through the course.

Could use a practice basket, a map, and some trashcans through the course.

Other Thoughts:

This is a newer course and I am glad I played it. Haven't been to Brown County in years. It was a very scenic and peaceful course. This may not be the case during baseball season.

If in the area, I would highly recommend it. Although it was a little overgrown, I liked it. it was challenging and unique. It is about 20-25 minutes from the highway and the drive is awesome.
