Pros:

-Baskets OK
-Quick Play
-Concrete Tees
-Decent Map at start

Cons:

-#1 and #9 play around playground, mandos try to help, but don't
-Walking path in play on all holes
-Too many baskets in middle, tough to decide which is #2, #5 or #7
-Only one hole over 300'
-Tees share concrete of exercise equipment and are a little small
-A "tenth hole" tees from #9 and is an object of hitting the small "bridge" in the SW corner of the park
-"Signage" is fading info painted on the tee box

Other Thoughts:

Dexter American Legion DGC is located in the Dexter City Park on the east end of Dexter, IA. The 9 holes (and a strange 10th) are jammed inside a fairly small and potentially busy park. The tees share a concrete pads with an exercise circuit. There is a blue box painted on the concrete for use as a tee pad. These are fading badly, need repainted. #1 and #9 play around a good size playground. While there are mandos to help manage, they only sort of keep you away from the issue. As you step to #2, it is confusing as to your target. There is a basket in front of the restrooms (not there, it's #5) and one beyond that to the right (not that one either, it's #7). Stay left and past the restrooms. The rest aren't too bad, but the walking path is in play on every single hole. There is technically a tenth hole. Teeing from near the #9 basket and using the little foot bridge in the SW corner of the park as an object target. This seems tacked on and I honestly tried it the first time I played, skipped it the second. Honestly, this would have been better as a 6 basket course. It feels really crammed and you have to watch out for literally anything else going on in the park. My second round took about 50% more time than it should have with just one person walking the path. Maybe a rework into 6 would help. At least repaint the tee boxes and either take out the "tenth hole", or get one more basket (does cross the #1 fairway, though) to add to the rating for me. Played a second time after playing just up the road in Redfield. I would play if it was the course in my town, but maybe only bag it otherwise. I probably won't play again.
