I only play here when I'm up visiting the Aquarium, as we usually stay close to this park. I've played some crap courses in the desert, with no trees or OB, so I think a 1 is harsh. It's a pretty walk in the park, that gives you some good practice with a mid and putter.

-short holes
-Beautiful location, ocean views, monterey pines
-Surprisingly Technical shots for such short holes
-limited use allows freedom to play made up holes/layouts

-No course map or tee signs (printed map required if you wish to follow the layout)
-basket 7 is missing (play to the no camping sign)
-lots of trash from the homeless surrounding the field, the homeless have never given me any problems however.
-parking is limited (some spots available next to the jack in the box)
-walking path cuts through the middle of the course which can sometimes interrupt play

-This course plays through a small field with Monterey pines and oaks surrounding and scattered throughout. Most holes have one obstacle to determine your initial throw off the tee. This makes the course easy on beginners but still forces them to learn different throws and control.
-Don Dahvee is short and technical, I go to school a 5min drive away so I'm often playing there between classes. If you're looking for a serious course with difficult holes, benches, and tee signs, this is not the place for you. However it is an absolutely great place to bring new players and kids. Or to practice your putting or mid range. Whenever i run into someone playing its locals emptying their bags practicing. Think of it as one massive putting green with 8 holes and endless possibilities! Don Dahvee fills a niche which is needed, but if you're coming from out of the area and looking to play some serious disc golf, Ryan Ranch, or CSUMB oaks will better fit your needs.
