Pros:
Proximity to base housing/dorms
Wide open - good for beginners/practice
1 of 2 courses within an hour drive
Cons:
No variation in terrain
Little to no shade for a course in west TX
Lots of straight, similar holes
Other Thoughts:
The entire course could be par 3. Holes 1-5 go back and forth in an open field so distances/shot types are identical. The course feels like field practice with a target. It's not all bad since it is a great course to work on basics. Not a busy course, great for multi-shot practice rounds. Baskets are nice and generally in good condition. Tee pads are a sort of rubber mat that are staked down - No problems with footing in the dry conditions I played in.
