Pros:
I added this course to DGCR so that others in the close(ish) area would know it exists.
- Hole length varies enough to give amateur-intermediate players a way to test their bag. 148 ft shortest hole, 452 ft longest hole.
- A stark contrast to Eagle Island. Somewhere you can practice without having to worry at all about losing a disc.
- Course is behind the school in the well maintained grass field.
- Course has a football field next to it that you can practice distance throws on so you have a good measurement to go off of.
- Good quality baskets. You tend to see cheaper baskets on small courses like this but the school didn't cheap out!
Cons:
- Short. ~2100 ft for 9 holes.
- Only one tree on the entire course and its on the last, and shortest hole.
- Tee pads are 2x4's in the ground. If you haven't played before it may be hard to find exactly where they are in the ground. Follow the course map and it will lead you right to the vicinity of the 2x4.
- Come school time you only have the evenings to play the course and may not be able to play due to extracurricular activities. (I haven't been during the school year yet. Just played in the summer)
Other Thoughts:
When I first moved to Idaho I went to this school. The field is massive and at the time didn't have much use. Now that I am older I am glad they put my favorite sport in the field to play on! I hope this brings more youth into the sport as well. This course plays an easy 15-20 minutes and makes you feel good when you park a drive next to the basket for an easy birdy. Definitely builds confidence in your midrange/fairway driver throws!
