Pros:
~White and Red tee layouts are exceptionally distinguishable from one another
~Beautiful natural environment with spectacular views
~Challenging yet fair course design
~Elevation, elevation, elevation!
~Benches and trash cans located throughout the course
~Tremendous amount of variety
Cons:
~Newly opened and needs time for repetitive mowing and foot traffic to soften the natural roughness.
~Lots of lost disc potential due to the rough and blind shots caused by elevation changes
~Concrete tee pads should be about 2' longer
~Hole signs were placed in front of the tees, doesn't affect your tee shot physically but they should be placed behind and to the right of the concrete tee pads per typical installation
Other Thoughts:
Played a morning round from the white layout with a group of friends. It took the seven of us approximately 3-hours to complete our round. Located near Coshocton, Ohio this rural setting is full of beauty with a tremendous amount of elevation changes and areas opening up to fantastic views of the surrounding area.
The white tees are absolutely designed for the upper advanced player, they require controlled distances in order to score par or better. The whites are a long layout and anyone with 400+ feet of power will be happy throwing here. While we didn't play the reds they appear to provide a much more manageable layout for the intermediate to lower advanced thrower. Considerably shorter than the whites and they also are placed for the most part to create completely different lines to the baskets.
Concrete tee pads on every hole, the pads are adequate for an x-step, but I felt they could have been about 2' longer overall. Good hole signage, although they were typically placed in front of and to the left of most tee pads which can be distracting mentally. Navigation was very straightforward and we had zero difficulty getting around.
There is a ton of variety throughout this 18 hole course, coupled with exceptional elevation changes you will be throwing everything you got and then some. Water comes in to play from time to time, and the rough can be unforgiving so keep it smart and sacrifice distance for control whenever possible. This is built on a portion of an old ball golf course, if the parking lot and clubhouse building were updated this could easily be a destination course with the ability to host a top level A-tier event.
It's a newly opened course, and I know the group who helped with getting this opened up, there is no doubt this property will be maintained and beautified as time goes on. I gave it a 4 star rating but feel it could eventually push 4.5 to 5 once it matures.
