Serenity and promise... 2+ years

Reviewed: Played on:Aug 1, 2020 Played the course:once

Pros:

First off, what a beautiful piece of land....not that there's many bad ones in this area. You'll drive down a curvy road and happen upon this spot and wonder "where TF did this come from?". What at one point was meant to be a PGA caliber golf course evolved into disc golf, ball golf, and foot golf...and who knows what else goes on here.

The pictures on this site are NOT of this course...maybe they're from the not-in-play 18, or some other configuration, but nothing close to what is currently in play.

Discatcher baskets...my favorite. All in decent shape and well mounted. Most pin placements have some sort of danger. Rollaway potential, OB ball golf greens (if they ever have tourneys here) and other dangers.

About half the course winds along part of the now-defunct ball golf course (depending on your perspective, I guess...), with the rest well placed in some surrounding woods.

Some elevation in play on a few holes....especially hole 9. What a GREAT finishing hole. Somewhere in the 330-350' range, very much downhill, through a fair gap and over a river....my goodness, this would fit in on ANY top notch course anywhere.

Good use of existing ball golf fairways for several holes. Holes 3 and 5 especially stand out.

The owner is an especially nice (if not a bit eccentric) guy. He drove me around on the golf cart to show me the precise layout, which was awesome.

Cons:

The "tees" here are pretty horrid. Tiny concrete slabs for the most part...I ended up teeing off next to most of them.

This place just screams unpolished, especially when you get off the old ball golf fairways (except for hole 9...that hole is freakin' awesome). No signage, unfinished projects...just an overall dilapidated vibe. The owner has a lot of ideas, but I don't know if he has the ambition. I mean, the 18 hole course onsite has been down for two years after some flooding...I just don't think any of this is a priority.

Zero signage...if I hadn't received a personal tour in the golf cart, I would have been quite lost.

I don't really mind paying, but $5 a round for what is here feels a bit much.

Other Thoughts:

I really, really, really would have loved to have seen this place in its heyday, with both the 18 and 9 playable and in great condition. A simply spectacular tract of land for frolf.

Would I go out of my way to play here? It's close, but probably not....but then again, if I could grab holes 3, 5 and 9 and slap them into another course, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Soooo much potential here; if they ever get the 18 fixed up and the 9 polished, I'd go back. It doesn't hurt that there's some other great courses nearby (Justin Trails, Veteran Hills) that would make the trip worth it.

if you're close, go check it out. If nothing else, the curvy road drive there will be worth your time.

Great atmosphere Fun Course 2+ years drive by

Reviewed: Played on:May 3, 2015 Played the course:once

Pros:

The front 9 holes has concrete tee pads and a variety of holes that offer length and technical work.

The owners are wonderful people and are proud of their course.

Ask for a tour of the course in the golf cart with no brakes best ride you had in a while.

Cons:

The back 9 has gravel tee pads but according to owner that will be changing soon.

Other Thoughts:

The course is in a beautiful valley and can be extra challenging in the wind. good use of elevation changes. The clubhouse sells cheap beers for your round.
