Pros:
+ It's a decent design using wooded and open sections of a town park (with the exception of Hole #1, as noted below)
+ It was probably a good 9 hole track when it was established in 2015, but it hasn't been maintained
Cons:
- Very difficult to find the first tee unless you're looking for the wood-lined "box" in the ground near the bulletin board (use the pictures on this site to help you)
- First hole is difficult - and dangerous to other park users. Your tee shot needs to stay w/i 8 ft of the ground to clear the low branches (it's a 327 foot par 3 hole, so I guess the only par play is a roller...). There's a playground right next to the throwing line, and the basket in placed among workout equipment
- If you're going to try this park, my best advice is to have the uDisc app and the map easily available. You're going to hunt around for the "tees" and you'll need all the help you can get
Other Thoughts:
~ If you're thinking of playing Echo Lake for the first time, check for the most recent reviews to give a sense of course conditions
~ This is a good community park disc golf project that's aged poorly. There's no evidence of upkeep on the wooded holes (no trimming, and the "fairways" are all choked and overgrown)
~ I posted some new pictures to compare conditions to those posted in 2015
